Yesterday, I got some unsettling news. I found out that a long time staff member at work was going into semi-retirement and it was going to be her last day. I also found out that we lost a job contract. The company who provided this job decided to go to another company because it offered more money. I really enjoyed working on this job, now it is gone. I woke up ill today. My boyfriend called me early because he's going to see "King Kong" tonight. There was another terrorist attack, this time in London, England. Four individuals are confirmed dead, 20 injured. |
Thursday night, I went to Tim Horton's with my fiancé. I was under the weather yesterday with a headache. Today, my fiancé and I went grocery shopping together. Good practice for when we get married. |
After several days, I'm back. I finished my Kettle Duty on Friday. Went to church on Sunday. Had a nice long visit at my sister-in-law's on Christmas Eve. I mostly slept on Christmas Day. I also watched a lot of soccer during the last seven games. |
Did Kettle Duty today. My ride showed up an hour early. I guess it is better to be early than late. Near the end of my shift, some creepy guy stood beside me. Makes me wonder if was going to try to steal the kettle. If so, he underestimated me. i'm not that stupid to leave the kettle full of money alone. I also helped a woman dropped her wallet and didn't know it. She ended donating $10. One woman gave me a candy. |
I got an engagement card from a friend from Stride. It is beautiful. Can't wait to show my fiancé. I phoned her to thank her. She phoned back and we had a little talk. |
I only have two more Kettle Duties to go. There was a lot of soccer on this afternoon. Two in Bundesliga and one in Serie A. |
It's been a busy three days for me and exciting as well. The big news is that I got engaged on Saturday to my boyfriend of four years. On Friday, I was on Kettle Duty. Yesterday, I announced my engagement in front of the church. It went over well. |
I was busy the last two days doing charity work for the Salvation Army. I'm sooooo happy that my favorite band of 30 years, Def Leppard, made it to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. They'll be inducted in March. CONGRATS. |
Yesterday, our pastor was late. After the opening hymn, we had to wait to see what was going to happen. Thankfully, one of the choir members took over until she show up. We did received some promising news. We've got several candidates for a permanent minister for our church. I suspect we'll have new minister in the new year, (2019). |
Things went well yesterday afternoon. a few people donated while I was on watch. I gave a little boy a candy cane and his dad gave him 20 cents to put in the kettle. So sweet. Anyway, I got off 15 minutes early because someone else came early to take over for me. It gave me time for shopping and pick up my dinner. I hope I get to do it next week. |
We got a little bit of snow overnight. Not much going on here. Just doing some writing today. |
