Comfort food, ethnic food, meal, beverage, fruit, protein, unique food combination, etc - make us hungry! Welcome to Andre's Self Serve The home of discount meat and homemade Vodka Very timely prompt. The world is in the grips of a food crisis, and big business controls who eats, and what they eat, or, maybe I should have thought a little bit about what I'm going to write before I just start typing. Sorry about that, my muse is bugging me today. Andre the Blog Monkey doesn't understand food. He only likes two things, bananas, and Vodka. He'll eat or drink anything else, he certainly isn't fussy, it doesn't even have to be food. Packing peanuts, motor oil, board game pieces, paint, doesn't matter if he feels like eating, and it's in his hand already, then... Andre likes to eat anything that is packaged in a tube. I have to hide my toothpaste. I have to hide my toothbrush too, but for a different reason. I don't hide the Preparation H tube. Stupid monkey. Oh yeah, it's not about Andre. My grandfather was born in Lebanon. He came to Canada with his family as a young boy. He loved to cook and eat and learned to make all of the traditional dishes his parents raised him on and passed these delicious food experiences on to us. I'm undergoing a drastic diet change at the moment. I'm not sure how long it will last or what my future food choices will be or won't be. Tonight I had a meal that was almost 100% plant-based. (I put Feta cheese on my Greek salad which is not plant-based) Tomorrow I'm making pizza, one for me with bacon, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese and one for Leslie with no meat and non-dairy cheese. Non-dairy cheese! I'd rather share a tube of something with Andre. Unique food combinations - The winner is da, da da daaahh my mom, with spagetti (made from a box kit) and fish (frozen from a box) My comfort foods are probably a thing of the past, but for what it's worth... Liptons Chicken noodle soup, bologna sandwiches, with butter and ketchup, I'm also fond of baby back ribs and potato chips. My go-to beverage at home is Oceans Spray Cran-Cherry Cocktail diluted with two-thirds water. Maybe enough food for thought for one blog entry. Please exit through the gift shop. |
