My Search

I

Into the mystic realm,
I let my mind take flight,
Over stone strewn highways,
I search the endless night.

I was the Wanderer,
Looking for a goal,
And the Seeker,
Searching for my soul.

I walked the roads of idle fancy,
Paths of material delight,
Stumbling over stones of vain imaginings,
In my search for the light.

A voice deep within me cried:
"Here doesn't lay your goal,
Upon these darkened pathways,
You'll never find your sou."

II

Into the mystic realm,
Again my mind took flight,
Over well traveled highways,
I search the misty twilight.

I was a Seeer,
Seeking an unknown goal,
And a Stranger,
To my own soul.

In this realm of half-light,
I strolled the roads of tradition,
Picking my way carefully,
Through the shadows of superstition.

Still from within came the cry:
"Not in this realm is your goal,
Upon these half-lit pathways,
You'll never find your soul"

III

Into the mystic realm,
Again I took flight,
And walked the paths,
Where God has shed His light.

I walked the hallowed highways,
Trod by the Prophets of old,
Strolled the ancient paths,
Strewn with nuggets of pure gold.

This is the wondrous realm,
Where all paths become one,
This is the glorious land,
Illuminated by God's sun.

Through the Word of God,
I have found my soul,
In the Messenger for this age,
I have found my goal.

Born To Live
January 30, 2019 at 3:35pm
Born To Live I thin human beings are born to live, not to die Alina Franandez Revuelta I think human beings are born to live, to live in the beauty of true freedom; to dwell in the splendor of genuine independence; to abide in the magnificence of actual liberty; to exist in the resplendence of real autonomy; to prevail in the pursuit of certain emancipation; to survive in the quest of valid alternatives: I think human beings are born to live, not to die. The Finger of God: A Metaphor
January 29, 2019 at 9:53pm
The Finger of God: A Metaphor Quick flashes of light, illuminate the darkness, strike the senses: contrasting colors undulate on the edge of vision. Darkness implodes scatters shards o f silence, echoes off pounding eardrums. Brilliant flashes of light penetrate consciousness, juxtaposition reality and illusion. Explosions rumble-- aftershocks of spiritual evolution-- reverberate across colliding ideologies. {dropnote:"Poet's Note:"}I wrote this on 1 ... [Read more]

Child's Prayer Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. Author Unknown Now I lay me down to sleep, In the endlessly rocking cradle, Dread to te joys my soul will rap, From drinking the wine at God's table. I pray the Lord my soul to keep, From the hungry wolves which devour the spirits, Of those wrapped in eternal sleep, Inside matter's unlit garret. If I should die be... [Read more]
In the Midst of Recklessness
January 29, 2019 at 8:15pm
In The Midst Of Recklessness Once, in the mist of all the recklessness of daily living, I questioned reality. I took out a microscope and examined my concept of divinity, my concept of humanity, and my concept of myself. I asked my soul the hard questions: Can I love God if I don't love myself? Am I investigating truth for myself? What is family? Once, in the midst of all the recklessness of daily living I questioned reality, and I haven't been the same since. ... [Read more]
Avenues of Escape
January 29, 2019 at 7:28pm
Avenues of Escape I know there must be many avenues of escape, many solutions to the problem. There are always several solutions, several roads out of a situation, but I can't seem to find them. I'm in the middle of one of life's biggest test, and I can't see any avenues of escape. I've always been able to find multiple solutions to a problem, myriad avenues of escape, but now I can see none. What am I doing different? The last time I was faced ... [Read more]
Pretending The Pain Isn't There
January 28, 2019 at 4:36pm
Pretending The Pain Isn't There Swept into the currents of pain, Mind focuses on the blow That destroyed the foundations of trust. The wounded ego withdraws, Into a shell of fear and pride, Where it can pretend That the pain is no longer there. This wall built of unforgiveness Grows higher everyday That ego plays this game of pretending That the pain isn't there. The ego underestimates The power of forgiveness to heal, So each day the wall grows thicker And high... [Read more]
The Afterlife: Variations on the Theme
January 27, 2019 at 1:45pm
The Afterlife: Variations on the Theme Judaism The concept of the afterlife is to give hope! Hop that there is something more to living. In the afterlife there is both paradise and the nether world. However, neither condition is permanent. At the end of time, at the final judgment evil will be incinerated. The idea is to serve the master without though of the world to come. Contemplating the Creation of the Universe
January 26, 2019 at 6:36pm
Contemplating the Creation of the Universe I sing of silence! The uninformed silence before the word was spoken, before the characters were joined together, and link inseparably to the act. This is the song of precreation. of unformed, unchaotic, unexpressive, lonely nonexistence. This is that soul rending silence that proceeded the primordial atom, that proceeded God's spoken invocation, which generated creation's melody. God-- the uncreated, unknowable, preexisten... Divine Intervention: A Meditation
January 25, 2019 at 8:20pm
Divine Intervention: A Meditation Divine intervention is a rainbow after the rain, a crown of glory above Sunrise Mountain at dawn, a mourning dove in autumn, a nightingale in spring, the peace of meditation, the silence at midnight, walking along a beach and finding a starfish, the purr of a cat, the bark of a dog, lightning on a clear day, never encountering a stop light at rush hour, rain from the blue sky, snow on an active volcano, and a double rainbow. ... Snake Shedding Its Skin: A Poem of Transformation I feel my lungs expand, contract, and expand again, pushing against concepts that bind and constrict; concepts that are too small or limiting for my new maturity. Birth of a New Civilization: Two Poem
January 30, 2019 at 4:41pm
Poem One I see a new world rising; like the Phoenix from the ashes; the new from the old. Like a woman in childbirth, the world is racked with pain, waiting for release. This planet is enshrouded, with trouble and death. To its wars there seems no end! Our science is not help, it doesn't bring us peace. Our governments fight each other, in cold war or in hot. The great religions fight one another, each claiming the only way to God. God loves all mankind! T... [Read more]

Lighthouse At Dawn
January 17, 2019 at 6:43pm
Lighthouse At Dawn Above the knife edged rocks that cut the wintry sea, Faith's light shines out across the breaking waves, Warning religions' mariners That the reefs of dogma sever but do not save. Salvation breaks above the coast itself, Dawn's light colors the clouds of morning red, Illumines to cautious mariners The narrow passage through which bolder crews have sped. Alone upon the cliffs the lighthouse stands, Silhouetted against the rising sun, Challeng... [Read more]
