| There is a pandemic at hand. People are dying all over the world in lakhs. The nations economy is in the pits. China is threatening on your door and all that the media has time to report is the death of a Bollywood actor who is no way is connected to most of us. COVID IS .... CHINESE THREAT IS.... ECONOMIC TURMOIL affects us but all one hears from morning to evening is the death of one Bollywood star. Loss of any human life is sad and I am sorry a young man had to lose his life and in the same breath I am equally pained when farmers commit suicide, when a young girl commits suicide because her father can’t afford a Smart Phone to study and many other school kids like her. How come that did not find media space like this case ? Is a poor man’s daughters life less important than that of a Bollywood actor? If the same empathy and interest had been shown in numerous rape cases many unfortunate girls would have got justice. But they don’t buy TRP like this does and most important is educated people in 21 Century believing in hocus-pocus and Black Magic. What level of intellectual bankruptcy have we become prey to. All these high sounding degrees that we flash around is total Bad if all our entire media space is dictated by one death of a Bollywood actor? Sickening.. |

| Being a married-in son-in-law, he was treated like a dog. Lin Wenjing tried to speak, but realized that his words were stuck in his throat. Chu Ling continued, “You should go. Before I go to General Manager Wang, I will tell the lawyer to draft a divorce agreement. Once you sign it, I won’t be considered as being unfaithful to you.” The edge of her lips revealed a tiny smirk. Upon hearing her words, Lin Wenjing staggered backward. He felt that his heart had stopped beating, and he was suffocating in tremendous heart ache. In these four years of living together every day, he had fallen in love with Chu Ling unconsciously and had gotten used to the presence of Chu Ling. He could not imagine the days he would have to endure without Chu Ling! Everyone present was rejoicing in Lin Wenjing’s misfortune when they witnessed this scene, and they were all laughing at him. “Leave now. If you don’t want to destroy the last bit of good opinion I have for you, just leave. I don’t want to see you anymore.” Chu Ling turned away, trying hard to hold in her tears. Lin Wenjing had gotten used to her presence, and so did she. It was just that she had her own share of obligations, so she could not act as she wished. Lin Wenjing was stunned for a few seconds before he replied the word ‘alright’ in stupefaction. After that, he turned away and left soullessly. Lin Wenjing’s entire body was numb. He could not even recall how he reached downstairs until a resounding ringtone cut off his thoughts. In reflex, he accepted the call and raised the phone to his ears. If I am aware of the nature of my reactions, and movement of my reactions, naturally that awareness will result in freedom from the reaction. I cannot stop the reaction, because the reactions have been rooted in the subconscious, in the unconscious. I cannot prevent, I cannot renounce, I cannot check them. But if I am aware, simultaneously of the objective challenge, the subjective reactions and the causes of these reactions, then it results in freedom. Then the momentum of reaction will not carry me over with it, but I will be ahead of my reactions. I will not be a victim of my reactions, but I will see them as I see the objective challenge. That for me is meditation. All-inclusive attention while moving in life. Meditation does not involve any mental activity at all." "Minimizing in daily life the frequency, the duration, and the field of mental activity and living in silence, acting out of that silence is meditation. This meditation, this silence, has got a tremendous momentum of its own…You do not have to do a thing. You are not there: the ego, the mind, is not there. What happens in that silence? How does that silence move? It is something to be experimented with." "Meditation is watching the movement of mind in relationship. If you try to force the mind into silence by withdrawing from activity, you will never understand what silence is…There is great beauty when one discovers what silence in action is. Meditation is a new approach to total life, it does not demand of you any isolation." "Meditation is a state of total freedom from movement, to be there, and then to move into time and space, words and speech, feelings and emotions, to move into them out of the totality, out of the wholeness." "Freedom or liberation is not something to be cultivated. It is not different. It is not different from the bondage. One has to look at it, understand it and that very understanding explodes into freedom. They are not two different events, and we have to look at these not in isolation, not sitting somewhere in the corner of a room, but from morning till night to be in the state of watchfulness, in the state of observation, without condemning what is coming up or without accepting what is coming up. Just observing it, seeing the speed, the momentum, the electronic speed with which thoughts come, watching the intervals between the two thoughts." After the departure of her beloved partner, having no children and no one in the family to care for her, She decided to move to a nursing home. Even on the day when she vacated her home for good, she dressed up elegantly and looked gorgeous. After arriving at the nursing home, she had to wait patiently in the lobby for hours before room was ready. When an attendant helped her make her way to the room, she gave the lady a visual description of the tiny space that she was meant to occupy. "I love it” The lady expressed with the enthusiasm of an eight year old who had just been presented with a new puppy. "Mrs Jones, you haven't even seen the room yet... Just wait. " The attendant remarked. "Well, My joy has nothing to do with the room, " The lady replied. "Whether I like my room or not, doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged, it depends on how I arrange my mind, happiness is something you can decide ahead of time. And I have already decided to love my room, to love the people around me, to love my life. It is a decision that I make every morning when I wake up. You know what, the greatest asset we all have is the power to choose how we feel. " The lady continued speaking, as the attendant listened attentively with her mouth wide open. "I can spend my entire day in bed thinking of the pain I am in, focusing on the parts of my body that no longer work or I can get out of bed and be thankful for those parts that do work. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes can still open, I will continue to focus on today and all the happy memories I have stored in my mind, just for this time in my life." The attendant was astounded by the positive attitude of the elderly lady, whose life from an external point of view, was only full of problems and hopelessness. Actually, Only problems happen automatically, Happiness is a choice we all have to make. "Hatred" happens automatically "love" is a choice we all have to make. Being negative happens automatically Positive attitude is a choice we all have to make. " Complaining " is automatic " Gratitude" is a choice we all have to make. Let’s choose right and live well. |
| Only what you can know by feeling-sensing directly is real. Thoughts-concepts are just that, they are not reality. The life of the spirit is the life that lives exclusively in the present, here and now, nowhere in the past or future. The knowledge you get from meditating is so direct and simple, you need not philosophize nor analyze to know it. It just is, you just know. People think they know themselves well but this is not true; what they know is a lot 'about' themselves. If you really know your own mind the greed, the delusion, the anger, the unwholesomeness that drives the mind, then these will slowly decrease. When you understand your mind you are no longer at its mercy. Then you truly find lasting happiness; you know how to keep yourself happy. You will be able to see how the mind creates its own problems and unhappiness. It is necessary to just look and know the state of the mind. There is no need to correct, or change, or control the mind, just know what it really is. Know your feelings, how a mind state affects you and without thinking further on the subject, just know what you can experience directly, i.e. the feeling of anger or doubt, disgust. And when the feeling decreases see how the state of the mind has changed. There is no need to justify or stop what you are feeling. (What you can sense and know directly). Thoughts are merely your assumptions not what you know really or directly. |

I put in a pair of jeans 👖 and a message popped up: “Stay Home!” 👻 •If I see anyone crying on 31st December over the year coming to an end, I would personally smash a bottle on their head! 🤕 •After all that we have been through right now, the only thing missing would be the vaccine getting released in suppository form...There are so many legal issues and effectiveness on the vaccine front, l will go by the 90 percent effective rule anytime. Something better than nothing. 😐 •I feel like a teenager all year long: no money in the wallet, hair long and out of control, thinking about what to do with my life, and grounded at home...😰 310 words |
