We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life.
There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .
― Charles Spurgeon

Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.
― C. H. Spurgeon

Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles Spurgeon

A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.
― Charles Spurgeon

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.
― Charles Spurgeon

When your will is God's will, you will have your will.
― Charles Spurgeon

Bottom, bottom of the best.
Big, bold billows, harshest test.
Briny sea, and brazen wind,
the blasted blight of mariners thinned.

Beginning here begs the best of our search.
Believing the boast of their barnacled perch.
Befuddled by the bay and the deep blackish blue.
Befriended by the boys in the boat now not new.

Balance, balance, they're brave or they're bruised.
Brackish the bier with their brown scars bemused.
Blatantly blasted by the big ball of the sun.
Boneyard lambasted before they make fun.

Bold, bold, the book of the bound
Barb of the puffer through his belly now found.
Bitter the bite of the grief-burnished soul.
Baffled the base of the brains now unwhole.

Book, Oh the book of the ice-blistered mind.
Basest of bullies, who broke us unkind.
Boat has been banished from billows and shores.
Blasted by barnacles, boasted in lores.

Briefly, the breeze beckoned, "Bliss, I've for thee."
Barque ever broken before we could see.
Ball of the foot, blameworthy and blind.
Basking in barnacles, breath ne'er can find.

Bliss, ever bliss in the bastion so bold.
Believing the best from the bottom so cold.
Begone be the brackish and briny and bland.
Before boldest blaze, we ever shall stand.

Author’s Note:
This was written for the January 2020 round of "Rhythm & Rhyme: Poetry/Lyrics Challenge

Day 5 Prompt:
Create a poem OR song lyrics correctly using alliteration, and also using the 5 random words provided

**Alliteration is challenging for me as you can plainly see. I have used the required words to create the tale of an ill-fated voyage. The ship and the entire complement of mariners were all lost. Yet, even in the tragedy of the day, the writer and the reader alike may hold out hope for a great Day and life beyond the grave for those, who believed in the Christ, Who died and rose, again.

I have notated the required words in a blue font to insure, that they've all been used.**
