We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life.
There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .
― Charles Spurgeon

Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.
― C. H. Spurgeon

Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles Spurgeon

A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.
― Charles Spurgeon

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.

When your will is God's will, you will have your will.

How are the mighty fallen!
The mighty fallen! The mighty fallen!
They've gone the way of all the Earth!
Our lasting loss, and Ever's birth!

Why the pain, intense and full?
So famous, outside my orbit's pull,
but empathy beyond my place
can feel such grief in need of grace.

Across the country, never near,
but sadness for this flight unclear
remains within my wondering heart
of hopes not met, of lives, that part.

The Bryant home, now broken sore
with faces washing their wondrous floor.
Great tears are flooding wordless lives
to bring again their last-week thrives.

From greatness on the Lakers' court
to heartfelt goodness, this cut short
one Kobe Bryant lived to serve
the needs he found, that help deserved.

His loving daughter with him went,
whose life was started, then 'twas rent.
My hope for them is peace so given
greater than the grief we're livin'.

How precious is each day we live
with friends and family to give!
Oh, may we ever share our love
and saving grace from God's Home Above!

Your days were gifts and now such loss,
Dear Kobe, Gigi, what paths you crossed!
What sadness nine souls leave behind!
What wretched cost from fog, unkind!

I knew you only from afar.
You were Kobe, Lakers' superstar!
The mighty were taken from our peace!
No restoration for our pleas!

We lift our prayers, that Christ would carry
His wife and daughters in sanctuary.
The pain and sadness are the same
as daily love, that share a name.

Wonderful the Word of Life in ev'ry way,
The Master, Who has made the world in His Grace
would never leave it running for e'en one day
without His tender care and full-smiling Face.

Wondrous Word, the Living Lord, Who died for me
was laid upon a borrowed slab a day's rest
and rose the third day, showing salvation free,
that all who will may come to Him and be blest.

Oh, Wondrous Word of Life, who does all things well,
I thank You for this Gift with God to have peace.
My dear desire is that His Truth I may tell.
Redeemed souls may know His wondrous, sweet release.

Oh, what's in a name? I'm thirsty to know.
The name of a plant gives guidance to grow.
Each name for a man or a woman, indeed,
brings thoughts of humility, honor or greed.

A book has a name, that may plant it in space
or point to a soul, who has gone with no trace.
The name of a book as a moment in time
touches hearts with a need in rhythm and rhyme.

We often don't think of books in these terms.
Their paths seem so straight near raised little berms,
but subtle the change in the purpose and grace
of prosaic tomes in their cadence and pace
will heighten the joy and the art of each vase.

What names can we find for a poetry piece?
Will we land on the moon? In the country of Greece?
Is there sadness of heart or a glory-filled soul?
Is there pain all throughout or are we made whole?

For Alexis, the car, or Chuck, who can carry,
there are times for the family, wondrous and merry.
Right here on the soccer field, sweaty and cold,
the teams are the cougars, or France or the Gold.

"The rose by another name would smell as sweet,"
were Romeo, Juliet then blest to meet.
Yet, Hawthorns are known by their terrible spears.
Another name would never lessen our fears.

A teddy bear, cute and so cuddly and small
will grow to be large and quite vicious and tall.
A garter snake's green as it plays in your hand,
but Eastern Green Mambas bring death quite unplanned.

So, what's in a name? Depends what's inside,
for hope may be hiding or meanness and pride.
In June or July and December, too,
is pleasantness waiting when safety is through.

Right
grammar.
"Are you bright?"
Flummoxed teacher,
"Did you really say,
'How I et seven eggs!'
'Ate,' Billy, 'You must say 'ate.'"
"You may be right. 'Twas eight I et."

The Will is here when Christ is home.
The Will of Christ will never roam.
His Will is done when He is praised.
His Will is how the dream is raised.

"For it is God, which worketh here
in you, He works to make it clear.
He works to make your will His own.
He works in you to build His Throne."
(Philippians 2:13)

The waitings of the Lord seem rude.
We struggle for a hopeful mood.
The bones are dry upon the ground
with dusty land strewn all around.

(Ezekiel 37:1-14)
He asks us when He for us hides,
"Will these bones live or be denied?"
"We have no faith," we think, "to use.
The Lord Alone gives life to choose."

"The mystery is now my best.
I do not understand this test.
Will, You, now bring me Hope, Lord, soon?"
"The answer's in the Scripture's boon."

(Psalm 91:1-2)
"Abide in God's own secret place
in the shadow of Almighty Grace.
The Lord, He is my refuge dear.
I trust in Him and my sight I clear."

The Will is answered in His time.
The answered Will is sure and primed.
That Jesus will arrive with us
gives hope to daily wait and trust.

Verse #1
Life's a daily wondrous way.
Yet, perfect it is not.
The dreams He gives can cause dismay.
He seems to have forgot.

Chorus
We stay the course, consistent one!
We stay the course and pray!
We stay the course 'til God be done
tomorrow and today!

Verse #2
The daily task may seem so dull.
We wonder what's to come.
Our greener pastures daily mull,
but Life's no tidy sum.

Chorus
We stay the course, consistent one!
We stay the course and pray!
We stay the course 'til God be done
tomorrow and today!

Verse #3
The promise God has made may seem
so very far away,
but God is keeping ev'ry dream,
for Time to fully weigh.

Chorus
We stay the course, consistent one!
We stay the course and pray!
We stay the course 'til God be done
tomorrow and today!

Bridge
Stay the course and seek God's Face.
Stay with Him beyond disgrace.
Stay the course and see.

Chorus
We stay the course, consistent one!
We stay the course and pray!
We stay the course 'til God be done
tomorrow and today!

Verse #4
The pieces of God's story's told.
The way is always true.
Audacious He and fully bold
when working good for you.

Chorus
We stay the course, consistent one!
We stay the course and pray!
We stay the course 'til God be done
tomorrow and today!

Bottom, bottom of the best.
Big, bold billows, harshest test.
Briny sea, and brazen wind,
the blasted blight of mariners thinned.

Beginning here begs the best of our search.
Believing the boast of their barnacled perch.
Befuddled by the bay and the deep blackish blue.
Befriended by the boys in the boat now not new.

Balance, balance, they're brave or they're bruised.
Brackish the bier with their brown scars bemused.
Blatantly blasted by the big ball of the sun.
Boneyard lambasted before they make fun.

Bold, bold, the book of the bound
Barb of the puffer through his belly now found.
Bitter the bite of the grief-burnished soul.
Baffled the base of the brains now unwhole.

Book, Oh the book of the ice-blistered mind.
Basest of bullies, who broke us unkind.
Boat has been banished from billows and shores.
Blasted by barnacles, boasted in lores.

Briefly, the breeze beckoned, "Bliss, I've for thee."
Barque ever broken before we could see.
Ball of the foot, blameworthy and blind.
Basking in barnacles, breath ne'er can find.

Bliss, ever bliss in the bastion so bold.
Believing the best from the bottom so cold.
Begone be the brackish and briny and bland.
Before boldest blaze, we ever shall stand.

Day 5 Prompt:
Create a poem OR song lyrics correctly using alliteration, and also using the 5 random words provided

**Alliteration is challenging for me as you can plainly see. I have used the required words to create the tale of an ill-fated voyage. The ship and the entire complement of mariners were all lost. Yet, even in the tragedy of the day, the writer and the reader alike may hold out hope for a great Day and life beyond the grave for those, who believed in the Christ, Who died and rose, again.

I have notated the required words in a blue font to insure, that they've all been used.**

Dr. Seuss is my friend. Oh, I really must say,
"Thank you, Sir, for the laughs, and the beauteous play!"
With your Cat in the Hat and green eggs on the plate
reading skips on the tongue. The event is just great!"

"'Twas you're Christmas with Grinch made us learn it's a cinch,
that the day made of self will bring joy, not an inch,
but a heart, that doth grow makes us quickly to know
ev'ry gift made of love is the best without show."

Now, each time I would write with a rhythm and rhyme,
using anapest cadence with beauty sublime,
I must chuckle within for the tones of this feat
harken t'ward this good doctor's incredible treat.

Do you like making words, that would help us to read?
Do you like taking trips on boats, trains or a steed?
Do you think, that a child's dancing laughter and joy
is where your writing skills should make lasting employ?

Then embrace anapest and impress all your friends
for each merriment day brings a heart hopes to tend.
If you're wondering how we could ever go back
to the days of disgrace in which joy was at lack,
then I'd urge you, my friend, to move forward and bless
each lone soul with a tear, living life in a mess.
For depression just melts when you speak anapest.
Every mouth curls a smile as you blather a jest.

Were all days made of sunshine and loved ones to kiss,
were all nights made of joy and great treasures of bliss,
then our lives would all be wondrous health without end
as our creative crayons on paper would blend.

But while life has its ups and its downs and its flips,
we must help others back to their feet after trips.
If we learn how to speak anapest with the tongue,
then our names will bring hope with each song, that we've sung.

Day 4 Prompt:
Create your own poetry form written in anapestic meter

**Dr. Seuss has been a great inspiration for me. His repeated phonemes have helped me to understand and improve my reading and speaking abilities and on top of that my writing abilities as well. Though Dr. Seuss has written in other meters throughout his books of poetry, it is anapest for which he is most remembered in my heart. Proverbs 17:22 expresses it this way, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Few dispense such health to my heart as consistently as Dr. Seuss.**

Verse #1
If the Savior comes today,
will you walk the Glory way?
Up above the stars so high
in His mansion ne'er to die,
saved from sin His Grace has lift
woeful souls, who need His Gift.

Chorus
If the Savior comes today,
live in Mercy's full display.
Joy forever He will give,
if your heart is His to live.
Blessed Savior raised to be
Husband for believers free.

Verse #2
If the Savior comes today,
we'll remember the joyful day
He was born in the manger low,
then one day to Calvary go.
Up above the Jewish soil
paid the price in lasting toil.

Chorus
If the Savior comes today,
resurrection saves the day.
Hope in Christ is His to give,
if your heart is His to live.
Blessed Savior raised to be
Husband for believers free.

Verse #3
If the Savior comes today
choice of joy or full dismay,
lasting rivers of His bliss,
if His truth you once did kiss,
but in Hell, if you reject
Mercy and your soul have wrecked.

Chorus
If the Savior comes today,
will you walk the Glory way?
Full salvation He will give,
if your heart is His to live.
Blessed Savior raised to be
Husband for believers free.

Day 3 Prompt:
Write your own lyrics to the tune of the ABC Song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Baa Baa Black Sheep

**Growing up in the home of a Baptist preacher, I learned the truth of the Gospel message
from my earliest years. I became a Christian at age six, and I have had no more important thoughts to share
than that all men everywhere need to come to Jesus, the Christ of Nazareth, for everlasting salvation.

The tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" has been known to my young heart for just as many years.
To marry the tune and the message is a great joy to my heart. I pray, that every reader will gain everlasting encouragement in His great Salvation purchased on Calvary's Cross and through the resurrection from the garden tomb, which was borrowed but for a weekend. I've given a theme and variation, that you should recognize easily enough in verse #2.**
