We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life.
There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .
― Charles Spurgeon

Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.
― C. H. Spurgeon

Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles Spurgeon

A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.
― Charles Spurgeon

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.
― Charles Spurgeon

When your will is God's will, you will have your will.
― Charles Spurgeon

Little Blaze Boy Cat
drapes my arm as I type.
Pillow he has gat.
Slow I write. I don't swipe.

Drapes my arm as I type,
challenging my speed.
Thoughts have time to be ripe,
typing as I read.

Pillow he has gat.
On my arm, he now rests.
Arm movement is flat,
but poem meets the test.

Slow I write. I don't swipe
as his purring sighs.
I'm content. I don't gripe.
Feline friend it buys.

Artful chair design from class.
Charcoal tool on paper sketch
stands the test of times that pass.
Skills are forced to grow and stretch.

Painting canvas sunset red.
Black the silhouettes of dusk.
Photo screams and art is led.
Daylight boxed by nighttime's husk.

Daffodils of winter's morn
stand, salute in freezing cold.
Paints, acrylic, life has borne.
Shades of color, full and bold.

Spiky sun of pencil art.
Homage to Dali's style of thought.
Nighttime landscape doth depart
from the rules, we've all been taught.

When the world by new eyes seen,
artists bold create a day
juxtaposed on canvas, clean,
real, but newly on display.

she came through with force
Laura rammed and stomped and roared
fearful trees fell down
ancient tree would cheer no more
rocks upon the human road
wrath was her lone tool
menacing waves in retreat
land finds rest at last

Today we start again to live
with hope for future souls.
Our children need the help we give
to keep our nation whole.

What threats were fought in years gone by!
What foes with fear in tow!
We need a leader, who won't lie
with grace that we can know.

The heroes of so many days
have fought to keep us free.
Star-Spangled Banner still displays
all sacrifice can be.

Though sinless we have never been,
the Lord with listening Ear,
defends our lives forever when
repentant hearts cry clear.

The Lord His Word before us speaks.
His mandate is a choice.
Choose badly and your life, it reeks.
Choose well and then, Rejoice!

The Lord will come to save the day
as first those called, "Up here!"
enjoy the Meal and with Him stay,
until we whinnies hear.

Enjoy the ride for Christ will win
the battle with His tongue,
until the world, restored again,
hears praises to Him sung.

Sixty years ago today
I was a babe in arms.
Living, crying, made of clay,
my folks kept me from harm.

Life progressed from crawl to stand
to walk along the way,
and by the hope of God's own Plan
my giftings were my play.

Salvation came when only six,
a second birth each year.
Gaze upon the Lord I fixxed.
The way was good and clear.

College came and marriage, too,
degree and wife now known,
and then one day a daughter, who
is now most fully grown.

Good this life has been to me
from babe to sage I am.
Daily hope I've come to see
by way of His great Plan.

Sixty years ago today,
I started on my trek.
Words of life I've learned to say,
with Truth my life bedeck.

Sixty years ago today,
my Mom and Dad with smile
welcomed me to live and play
in their home for awhile.

Sixty years ago I'd start
to hear the Master's Call,
but later when He changed my heart,
I'd give my life, my all.

The humans, that we are, today,
are not the ones we'll be.
Our giftings will not go away,
but we'll from sin be free.

The humans, that we are, we know
are really sadly flawed.
The days spent near the Lord we grow.
The days of Self are odd.

Show love for those, who need our grace.
Just benefit each doubt
for honor will restore your face
when God brings Life about.

Show love for all. Our grace returns
upon our head at last.
The churlish man new hope he learns
as peaceful we stand fast.

Show love. Give grace. Your Father sees
the way you treat each soul.
Your blessing from the least of these,
a crown for Christ, our goal.

The humans, that we are, need love.
The God, He is, provides.
The Grace we show is from Above.
In wings blest souls He hides.

As saved ones we show love in grace,
the Hands of God on Earth,
that lost ones find their lasting place
in Christ through His New Birth.

The Power of God in Grace-filled Love
lives through ones He's redeemed.
With Love and Grace He fills each glove,
committed child, esteemed.

"Be still and know that I am God."
He gives me Hope in every way.
My confidence He will applaud.
My God is all my Hope and Stay.

"Be still for God is Whom I know."
He lives for others. Yes, for me.
My Hope is strong for me to grow,
that through His Eyes I'll fully see.

"Just know that I am God. Be still."
His greatness will make me to live.
I bless His Name for all His Will
and Hope through every day He gives.

"Be still and know, that God, He is."
Each day brings evening, morning, noon.
My Hope is in the God, Who lives,
and fills this very earthly room.

"If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
"
(I John 1:9)

If we confess our every sin,
He will us pardon give.
He's faithful and He paid to win
us for Him aye to live.

He's faithful. He forgives our debts.
He cleanses every whit.
He on the place of honor sets
His child now every bit.

Forgiveness, now, our daily task
to Self and others, All.
Confession means we need no mask.
We're saved by the slightest call.

This life befuddles oftentimes.
You say what you think best,
but when your words are met with limes,
you wince at this new test.

The right and wrong were clearly marked
when I was just a pup,
but Truth now moved or double-parked
is questioned. Which way's up?

All rights demanded, loudly spoke
must have their time in the sun,
but rights not given are no joke,
tongues scream until they've won.

"But God's Word says," "There is no god."
"He made you by His Plan."
"Oh, if He made, I'd then applaud.
He's not. Just us. We're Man.
"

So sure, these humans, now alive,
have Knowledge, heights unknown.
No pride of heart they'll e'er deprive,
until their days be flown.

The Word of God, a dusty weight
on stacks of magazines.
Should It be closed, until too late,
No hearts in which it cleans?

Now, here I sit, obedient,
to myriad laws of Man.
"Just stay at home, until you're lent,
permission where to stand.
"

"Just cover your nose, and cover your mouth,
and speak with muffled air.
"
It's harder to know what you're about.
Blank eyes respond in a stare.

"Just do what we are saying, now.
'Twas different in the past
for we're your lords. Before us bow
this day unto the last.
"

They live by such unequal words.
"Don't tell me what God says.
We're not like you, such sheepish herds,
obeying words of His.
"

But when our health is "on the line,"
they speak with firmness rare.
"Obey each word and you'll be fine.
Infections, you must care.
"

One wonders when all breath is gone,
we face the Great White Throne,
will the words of Man make God to yawn
for His Laws stand Alone?

What words are best when Day is done
upon this earthly sod?
Whose words will test the lout and nun
before the One, Lone God?

This life befuddles much these days,
but speak we Truth anon
for when our words are what God says,
our Hope lives ever on.

Gentle Savior, help me rest
in Your Presence comfort blessed,
nevermore to live alone,
a little bird upon Your Throne.
Gentle Savior, help me rest.
(Psalm 84:3)

Gentle Savior, time I need
in Your Arms Your Eyes to read.
Lay my head upon Your Chest
to hear Your Heartbeat and be blessed.
Gentle Savior, time I need.

Gentle Savior, blow the wind.
Lift my spirit, heart to mend.
Keep me near Your lovely Feet
to wash them with my tears to greet.
Gentle Savior, blow the wind.

Gentle Savior, ever stay
near my bed Your Word to say.
Sweetest dreams from Your Hand sown
a message in my spirit known.
Gentle Savior, ever stay.

Gentle Savior, ever strong.
Fill my tongue with lasting song.
In Your Presence ever live,
that Glory to Your Name we'd give.
Gentle Savior, ever strong.
