A metaphor for my take on life and how it affects me.

It's a new day and I'd like to say that I'm raring to go and I am sort of. I left the dishes from last night and I had them to do this morning and I've completed that job. I'm walking in the house some since it's 30 degrees outside. My wife found a cover for Gracie, so when we go out she'll be covered and hopefully protected from the cold.

I've been having issues with my left-hand little finger because it locks up when I bend it, that's called trigger finer. I'm afraid it's going to lock up for good someday soon. I don't think I can type with my finger in that position. I don't do too much typing but since I'm thinking about restarting my blog, it may cause a problem, I don't want to have. Like everything else in life, time will tell.

I don't have any to-do's on my list today, hold on a minute, we are going to Walmart. I'll tag along with my wife while she picks up the items she needs. Not sure if my walk will come before or after the trip. That will be up to my wife cause she knows what's best.

I had an appointment with my Peditrist today, I visit him every 9 weeks due to my diabetes. All went well and my neuropathy does seem to be better. I'm glad Medicare picks up the tab along with my insurance. Life is good.

I took Gracie out for our walk when I got home. The temp was 44 and the wind was blowing. I was fully covered with sweatpants, socks, shoes, long sleeve shirt under a jacket, a skull cap that covered my ears and a baseball cap, and gloves. Gracie wasn't so lucky, she didn't have on any extra clothing. I felt bad but we haven't picked her up any shirts or covers. I was cold and I knew she was also because she kept pulling on me to keep moving. I usually walk a mile in 20 to 22 min, but this time we did it in 19 min. I dropped Gracie off after 1 mile. I came back out and finished another mile. I had 7000 steps in and if I want to get my 12000, to 13000, steps in then I must get back outside and walk. I do it in the backyard where the house blocks the wind, but it's an effort!

Tomorrow I will pick up a shirt or jacket for Gracie when we go for a walk.

Not much new here, I've been walking my dog daily and we get in 2 miles a day. That's only 5,000 steps a day. I've done my best to get between 10,000 to 13,000 steps in daily. That means I'm continuing to walk (quite a bit) once I get home. It wouldn't be a problem if the weather would cooperate. I'm a Californian looking for warm temps, but that hasn't been the case this winter. We were hit with lots of rain in December on account of the atmospheric river that brought in more than we're used to. January and February have been cooler than normal. It's 25 degrees this morning, and for me that's cold. I try and wait until the sun comes up and the temps get above 40 degrees before we take our walk. Besides the temp, we've also had the wind, which adds another problem. Oh well, we must take the good with the bad. Pretty simple stuff, not much to complain about.

I've been reading the bible and attending a bible study group. I've found it very interesting and I look forward to our weekly meetings. I have had trouble reading the bible, and being in a study group is helping. I've read all of the New Testament but the Old Testament is where I've had the hardest time. I need to learn to slow down and enjoy what I'm reading and not just answer questions.
