Transgenderism

I know this is a highly toxic subject, but if I can't go there here, where can I go?

I am a very open minded individual and normally do not care what others do as long as they don't hurt others - and I feel there is a lot of hurt going around because of this push for transgenderism. I say push, because I feel that is what is being done to our young population. In a confused world that we are all living in currently, the last thing I thought I would see is children, especially very young children requesting that their gender be changed. I first ask myself, is this the child doing the asking or is the child being fed or influenced with the "question", "Am I a different gender." I would say, most would not even know how to properly identify what the word means.

I recently read about a three year old who went through the beginnings of a gender change. Now, I am 75, and before you judge me based on my age, let me say, I have been around small children, raised a son, and have two granddaughters. So, I am not one of those who has not had experience watching children grow. I have also had my bumps along the road of growing to know how certain events can affect how we feel, perceive, and "think" we understand life. A child can and will mimic others as well as have their own personal traits. The more intelligent the child, the faster and more accurate they pickup on things. We see this all the time. Very young children learning an instrument, chess, language, acting roles, etc., and many with ease. So, with children growing, learning from others, reading, sharing, playing, make believe, why does any sane individual believe a child knows what his true gender should be outside of what he/she was born? Please feel free to help me understand this.

Many existing transgender individuals are now looking back on their life and wondering what happen? They feel like nothing changed for them but more confusion. Since that is a very possible situation, why in the world would anyone what to encourage such a traumatic occurrence on a young person who hardly knows what life is? Before I move on any further, I do understand that their is the occassional morphodite, but that is rare and not what I am referring to.

I read some of the stories behind individuals who have made this change and many are heart breaking to read. They say they trusted their instincts, or that of others; confine in so called professionals; all to no real satisfaction or inner comfort. Some trace their lives and feel that personal tragedies may have influences their feelings about their selves and how they look at their gender. Ongoing molestation, rape, incest, parent abuse was many times a factor that would arise in discussions but only if the individual would open up. Sometimes this did not come out until after the individual started or completed their transgender journey. With this in mind, how could a child, who barely has lived life, possibly know why they would want to change their gender? Any parent allowing this is as confused about their own existence. Please help me to understand such a parental choice?

Today is heart day – Valentine's Day. Though this is not about romance, it is "to the heart" of freedom that I write this!

The results of the acquittal was not only a victory for Donald J. Trump but also for the American citizens. No matter what you think of Trump, the defense attorney for former President Trump made it clear to me, that only one impeachment charge was filed and only that one charge could be considered in the impeachment. Trump did not incite a riot on January 6, during his speech as many Democrats, news media, and extremist would have you believe. It just was not done. And, trying to draw previous statements into the hearings, well, they were not applicable to the one charge that was allocated for the impeachment case presented.

Defense attorney, Michael T. van der Veen, was trying to keep the members of Congress on track to the one and only charge, that of incitement of insurrection. I believe the defense did an excellent job in trying to educate the Members of the House and Senate that they could not continue to make their judgment on any other charge. In fact, the defense continuously had to interject original videos for those that were played by the House Manager that had been altered to try and convenience voting members that Trump said or meant to say something else or that his speech was violent.

This acquittal I see as a small step toward justice; also, a step toward recognizing how certain powers are so set on twisting truth, and eventually taking our freedom of speech away. If they can take it away from a former President of the United States, they can take it away from us. We cannot stand by and let certain groups usurp our freedom of speech and continue to make our US Constitution null and void! This acquittal sent a message that freedom of speech is protected, our US Constitution is alive and well, while all along preventing a dangerous precedent set through a ridiculous, phony impeachment trial.

I don't normally sound off politically, but I must say, where is the logic in killing jobs when what you want to do environmentally is not particularly feasible? Who does away with a highly efficient source of fuel before you have another source to replace it. If you want to replace our current fuel source, should you not have various alternatives in place first? Why don't any of these so called environmentalist have a real plan? Transition of jobs must be in there someplace for these types of maneuvers to remain practical. If you kill a pipeline production, you kill jobs. So, how do we replace those job and when? Would it not be better to think of how to replace, retrain, finance prior. Should not those aspect of alternative replacements be totally analyzed before ending what has worked for years. Why not start planning where those new employees are coming from. Where is the training? Can those from the pipelines be retrained to handle other fuel sources?

Since America is not going to stop using oil over night, why disrupt jobs and lives? And as for stopping pipeline transporting, currently it is safer, cheaper than rail or truck!

I remember our new President Biden, saying at one point that certain workers, if they lose their jobs, could be trained to be programmers. Really?? You are going to ask a individual who is use to working outside with his or her hands to now sit at a desk for 6 to 8 hours programming? How realistic is that?

When America transitioned from the horse and buggy, and stagecoach, it was not done over night. However, some did make the transition: A company by the name of Brewster begin building automobile bodies in 1905 and discontinued their horse-drawn carriage production in 1911. People who work with their hands, such as pipe fitters and welders, I would think could and would want to be retrained to produce alternative types of fuel sources and should be given first opportunity to be trained in those areas.

But where is the talks that should be taking place when it comes to alternatives that are better suited for the environment. Where will the sound ideas come from? Where will the money come from. What are the time lines for those transitions?? Does Congress have the only "say so" on this? Why are not transportation companies being brought on board for these discussions? Or, are they? I am sure there are more knowledgeable individuals beside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

I would love to hear from you and your thought on this.

To the Children of the World!

I am 75 years young and have been reflecting on my life these days. It is with this blog I wish to say to the children of the world - be a child when you can, be responsible when you must and live each day fully. It is only in my day dreams that I can go back and relive my childhood. Playing as I did on 8 acres that my dad owned, believing I was baking pies, playing cowboys and Indians, riding the range with my stick horse, running through the field near by that was full of California Poppies and Lupines ... oh how I miss those days. I am so blessed that I still have a clear mind and can time travel back in memory.

Life back in my childhood days were so care free. My biggest worry was if it would rain and I would have to play inside. In todays world, my worries could be anything from, did I remember to mail that bill; when was the last time I bought a new battery for my car; where did I put my mask; and, I hope those tests come back negative!

When I was a child, sleeping outside in the summer time was such a treat; watching the shooting stars. Now days, I am lucky if I can see clearly through the smog. We never worried if a stranger was stocking the neighborhood. We kids stayed outside past dark and had no fear of heavy traffic while getting home on our bikes. We read books and if we were lucky enough to be one of the families to have gotten a TV set, there were several great family shows on to watch in the evening after dinner (we all ate at the dinner table together).

Now days families seem to be together but apart. The family can be in the same house, the same room but still not be in communication because the popular electronic device is all consuming. Yes, the TV did eventually become somewhat of a distraction for the family, but it was still relatively new and we still loved to read, or be read to and there were cards and board games. We also were a family of music and we sat together and sung songs and mom played a ukulele and my dad a harmonica.

Listen children, do not forget to play and play hard. Do not take on burdens if possible. Be light hearted, silly, imaginative, love on the arts, and music. Be a true friend as long as possible as friendships are harder and harder to keep these days. Do not be afraid to dream and learn to plan even at the smallest level. Only then will you make those dreams come true. Respect your family, your elders and yes, authority. You will and should become an important part of society. What you think and do does affect others.

Oh, I forgot to mention, always remain a child at heart. Have a hobby - paint or write (like here). This is what keeps you young.

Freedom is Peace

Freedom
Precious
Worthy of fighting for
A cause that may bring death

Living in confinement, pure hell
Lack of freedom kills the spirit
Freedom speaks peace
Peace rings out truth

Hear God, please be at peace
Do love one another
Peace be with you
Peace be with you

Where do we go from here?

I must not be the only one asking this question; it is of our current American situation - voter fraud! I am not going to discuss who I voted for or ask you who you voted for; personally I don't care. I do care that voter fraud did and has been taking place in our country but this year it was "in our faces". Really, can so many people be lying about what occurred in several states across the good old U.S.A? I think not.

I do believe the whole thing was orchestrated, by whom, I do not know. However, the purpose, I believe has been to throw our country into chaos. Oh yes, there are those who want their candidate to win, but I believe a higher authority (whether money, power for control), seeks to destroy the good in this country by dumbing down of our youth, keeping folks on the unemployment lines, keeping families in a broken state, more government control, so on and so forth. It appears they are doing a good job of it.

I thought 911 was a tragedy! And, believe me, I still do. The loss of lives, the loss of property and the terror that all of us felt - well, nothing has come close to it, except many now. The way this election was run, the stories of abuse at polls, mistreatment of people, the lying and denying of the situation from the media makes me sick. I guess for me, it has been just one more severe situation that has gone "crazy" in my life time in this country. Our freedoms are truly going down the toilet!!

Where do we go from here?? What say you??

Something that popped in my head:

Toys in the Attic

I am a doll, I am a truck
I am a baseball glove.
I belonged to Susie, I belonged to Billie
Why have they abandon us?

Susie use to call me her favorite
She dressed me and brushed my hair.
We had tea parties; it was a very happy time.

Billie said I was his first real truck .
He took me into the sandbox.
We made dirt runs; we built several roads together.

It has been a long time since we have seen Susie and Billie.
Where have they been?
Will they be back again?

Do you hear foot steps again, asked doll?
Is it Susie and Billie asked truck?
They don't look the same, why?

Look sis, here is your old doll.
I bet your daughter would love to have her .
Oh Billie, there is your old truck .
Maybe your Michael would like to play with it?

The toys felt special again,
Someone wants them.
It looks like we have not been forgotten after all.
Looks like we will be getting a new home.

It is quiet in the attic now.
All the boxes are gone.
Susie and Billie's parents have passed away; the house is up for sale.
But, the baseball glove was overlooked and remains sitting on a window sill. Maybe it will be discovered by another boy or girl.

It is cold outside...in the low 20s, but I walked by a sign that was a favorite of my late husbands that I must share. If anyone knows where this originally came from, I would like to know. Here we go:

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant

I believe this should be Congresses motto!

I don't think this phrase will ever die out, do you?

Have a great day!

Human Versus Computer

In 1978 came the 16-bit chip providing 29,000 transistors. Many of us thought that was something! But, in 2006, the 64-bit hit bringing in 291 million transistors. In 2019, the largest transistor count in a commercially available microprocessor (Rome chip) was 39.54 billion. It is hard for my brain to comprehend that number.

It is mind-boggling when you think of all the things that have computers in them. If you went through your house and removed all those processor-running items, what would be left? In my home, out would go my coffeemaker for starters (no way). My laptop would have to go and of course, my phone. If we go to the garage, out goes my car. I remember my late husband saying that once computer were put into cars, he was through working on them.

One might ask, how fast is the human brain compared to a computer? I read that in terms of spikes and synaptic transmission, the brain can perform at most about a thousand basic operations per second (that is amazing in its own right), or 10 million times slower than the computer. Wow, that puts a better light on the term "over load" for me. I believe our Creator set a limit for our processors to avoid possible burn out or blow out; at least while we are on this planet! Who knows what we will be capable of in our new suits when our Creator comes back.
