Where do we go from here?

I must not be the only one asking this question; it is of our current American situation - voter fraud! I am not going to discuss who I voted for or ask you who you voted for; personally I don't care. I do care that voter fraud did and has been taking place in our country but this year it was "in our faces". Really, can so many people be lying about what occurred in several states across the good old U.S.A? I think not.

I do believe the whole thing was orchestrated, by whom, I do not know. However, the purpose, I believe has been to throw our country into chaos. Oh yes, there are those who want their candidate to win, but I believe a higher authority (whether money, power for control), seeks to destroy the good in this country by dumbing down of our youth, keeping folks on the unemployment lines, keeping families in a broken state, more government control, so on and so forth. It appears they are doing a good job of it.

I thought 911 was a tragedy! And, believe me, I still do. The loss of lives, the loss of property and the terror that all of us felt - well, nothing has come close to it, except many now. The way this election was run, the stories of abuse at polls, mistreatment of people, the lying and denying of the situation from the media makes me sick. I guess for me, it has been just one more severe situation that has gone "crazy" in my life time in this country. Our freedoms are truly going down the toilet!!

Where do we go from here?? What say you??

Something that popped in my head:

Toys in the Attic

I am a doll, I am a truck
I am a baseball glove.
I belonged to Susie, I belonged to Billie
Why have they abandon us?

Susie use to call me her favorite
She dressed me and brushed my hair.
We had tea parties; it was a very happy time.

Billie said I was his first real truck .
He took me into the sandbox.
We made dirt runs; we built several roads together.

It has been a long time since we have seen Susie and Billie.
Where have they been?
Will they be back again?

Do you hear foot steps again, asked doll?
Is it Susie and Billie asked truck?
They don't look the same, why?

Look sis, here is your old doll.
I bet your daughter would love to have her .
Oh Billie, there is your old truck .
Maybe your Michael would like to play with it?

The toys felt special again,
Someone wants them.
It looks like we have not been forgotten after all.
Looks like we will be getting a new home.

It is quiet in the attic now.
All the boxes are gone.
Susie and Billie's parents have passed away; the house is up for sale.
But, the baseball glove was overlooked and remains sitting on a window sill. Maybe it will be discovered by another boy or girl.

It is cold outside...in the low 20s, but I walked by a sign that was a favorite of my late husbands that I must share. If anyone knows where this originally came from, I would like to know. Here we go:

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant

I believe this should be Congresses motto!

I don't think this phrase will ever die out, do you?

Have a great day!

Human Versus Computer

In 1978 came the 16-bit chip providing 29,000 transistors. Many of us thought that was something! But, in 2006, the 64-bit hit bringing in 291 million transistors. In 2019, the largest transistor count in a commercially available microprocessor (Rome chip) was 39.54 billion. It is hard for my brain to comprehend that number.

It is mind-boggling when you think of all the things that have computers in them. If you went through your house and removed all those processor-running items, what would be left? In my home, out would go my coffeemaker for starters (no way). My laptop would have to go and of course, my phone. If we go to the garage, out goes my car. I remember my late husband saying that once computer were put into cars, he was through working on them.

One might ask, how fast is the human brain compared to a computer? I read that in terms of spikes and synaptic transmission, the brain can perform at most about a thousand basic operations per second (that is amazing in its own right), or 10 million times slower than the computer. Wow, that puts a better light on the term "over load" for me. I believe our Creator set a limit for our processors to avoid possible burn out or blow out; at least while we are on this planet! Who knows what we will be capable of in our new suits when our Creator comes back.

Long time since I have been here....lots of good intentions.

Well, good intentions strike again so I hope to make better use of them. Here we go...

Why Do We Like To Reminisce?

One day, as I was reminiscing, I started to analyze why do I like to go there. My answer, it is a place of comfort, a safe haven if you will. With reminiscing, you can pick and choose which memories you want to relive. I love to relive my childhood, because, of course, for me they are very pleasurable. The opposite side is that many have had bad childhoods and would not want to go down that lane again; I understand that. I have those as well but that will remain for a later post.
,
I was born in 1945 (yes, long time ago). My birth just missed a terrible war period and I thank my heavenly Father that it did. But for a child, the late 40s and mostly the 50s were ideal. I grew up on an eight acre (not a farm) country area in Southern California where I can remember playing all day outside with not a care in the world. I remember at one point in time going down to the end of our property, which had a small creek and seeing gold fish in it. I wondered where they came from. Another time, not so fun was almost stepping on a scorpion as I was coming out of my front porch. Dad was just ahead of me and saw and removed the creature.

Our land was somewhat lacking enough water until my Dad dug a well. Even then, we had plenty of drinking water but we were not ready to farm or grow much. Dad didn't buy the land for that purpose but from what he told me years later, it was so us kids (2 girls, 1 boy) had a place to play. God love him!! We had that and more. We had the outdoors to explore, wonderful summers sleeping out under the stars (and you could see lots and lots of stars), no traffic of much to speak of (maybe a commercial plane or two would go over twice a month). To this day, I do not know how people exist in New York with all the noise and congestion!

Another great memory was seeing the California Poppy and Lupines come to bloom. There was a lot (large) that I remember going to and walking threw these beautiful wild flowers...some of my favorites today.

I feel reminiscing can be such a stress reliever because it can take us back to some joyous moments. We feel young again. We feel we have taken a mini journey, safe and pleasurable time that no one can take away from us. So important in today's world where it seems like so many people want you to think and/or believe like them. During my reminiscing, I don't have to answer to or reject other's thoughts. It is my time, my journey.

So, to recap, reminiscing has these wonderful values:

1. Fun to relive
2. Safe
3. Makes us feel young
4. No interruptions
5. It is free

When was the last time you took a trip down memory lane?
