That's so funny. It's also true of cats. My older cat won't climb up but now that our kitten does, he's been climbing and exploring places he never did before. Sometimes they just need the right incentive.

People here in the United States were warned about climate change years ago. Our Vice President in 1993, Al Gore, was an environmentalist. He talked incessantly about the issue warning something needed to be done to avoid destroying our planet. People laughed at him denying there was any such problem. He was right, they were wrong. I need to answer this prompt if I have time today. Have a good one!

59 years is incredible.

I can't imagine a love that intense either. And I'm very much in love with my husband. It's my second marriage, we've been together 20 years and married 16 years. If I had foolishly stayed in my first marriage it would have been 50 years. I left him before our 30th.

I've read a lot of his sonnets and wondered the same thing about the woman. I didn't realize there were 100 of them Kåre Enga in Udon Thani

There are different types of love. Her in the western colony we obsess with romantic/sexual love. The sex, however, must never be directly shown; we're cultural prudes.

Neruda wrote 100 sonnets for his future wife.

I mostly love (pine) from afar.

I wonder how many sonnets Neruda wrote. She must have been quite a gal!
Love is such a complex concept. What is love? The oft asked question to which no one has an answer. Would it be to sacrifice oneself to save another? I can accept a parent might do that to save a child. However that reminds me of the time I caught my ten year old son poking a lighted stick into a jerry can of petrol. I screamed, “don’t do that!” And I ran from the garage! So much for a mother’s love.

I believe Neruda was writing sonnets to his wife; although, I don't doubt your viewpoint. I remember falling in love 57 years ago. I was 14. But 'love' has never gotten me anywhere, other than helping me survive.

Super me!

PROMPT November 22nd

You have found that you can do something no one else can do. What is this special talent you have? Would it be considered a 'Super Power'? If you could have chosen this special ability, what would it be?

No one has realised yet but I can mind control. Hypnosis on steroids. This is a power I only recently realised I could tap into. A little late really in my life but better late than never I say.
It would have been really handy when I had three children under four. The twins would have slept soundly all night, the toddler wouldn’t have had tantrums because I would have been able to snap her out of them just with a click of my fingers.
But even though it is a latent power it’s still pretty useful. With just one look at my husband he’ll get up from the sofa and do the dishes and then bring me a cup of tea, or wine depending on what signal I send.
Shop assistance always ignored me because I used to be invisible being over certain age. Now they ignore all their other customers and zone in, eager to help in anyway I require.
A close relative of ours, whom I mention often in my blogs is always making some sort of mess of her life. Now I’ll be able to snap her out of her bad decision making. Oh no! It’s not working!
It was a pretty cool power to have while it lasted.🧐
