Musicology Anthology |
Rise By Skillet Skillet is one of my favourite artitsts, and, of their collections, Rise is my favourite album. In fact, Rise is the only Album that I’ve enjoyed as a complete entirety, as opposed to simply picking out one or two singles while discarding the rest. I must admit that there are one or two songs in the album that I don’t consider as personal favourites, but probably the reason I can appreciate the album as a whole is because the tracks listed can actually form a coherent theme, unlike most other music albums, which seems to be little more than a compilation of barely-related songs made by the same artist. And, indeed, the themes and subjects conveyed by Rise is a poignant one. It depicts a visceral response towards human tragedies and personal struggles, yet interspersed with hope and a call to rise above these less-than-ideal circumstances. I can only hope that the stories I write for this would do the album justice. Track listing: 1. Rise 2. Sick of It 3. Good To Be Alive 4. Not Gonna Die 5. Circus For A Psycho 6. American Noise 7. Madness in Me 8. Salvation 9. Fire and Fury 10. My Religion 11. Hard to Find 12. What I Believe |
