June 28, 2019 Welcome to the inaugural entry of the this blog, currently named "Sporadic Ramblings". I am coolhndluke. My handle is inspired by the film named "Cool Hand Luke" from the late 60's starring Paul Newman. I originally started my writing.com account around 2011 for reasons other than a love for writing. Someday we might get into some specifics from the that time in life but I have to warn you, they are not all fun. There is scene in the movie where Newman's character continues to get into trouble and the level of authority that tries to beat him into shape escalates to the prison's warden. In the scene, the Warden is attempting to teach the guards with him the way to properly discipline a problematic inmate and in his monologue, he states, "What we have here...is a failure to communicate...". Maybe you have heard that line repeated somewhere. Anyway, I've come to the realization that writing is a trusty tool that, when honed, maintained, and used properly, is a very effective means of communication. I don't know how often I will post here or what the theme of the blog, if any, will be. Peace |
