My first attempt at something like this so it should be an interesting ride.

Tuesday (I think) 28th April 2020

I think it’s quite amusing that now we are all restricted to our homes and having to entertain ourselves, we start writing about our lives but the only thing going on is that we are locked up in our own homes with nothing going on.

I have been off work since the 23rd March and it seems a lot longer than that.

Going from a forty-hour work week to a week of trying to keep busy is a bit of a culture shock. This is the longest spell that I have ever had out of work in my adult life. (I’m 62)

Luckily, I am healthy and fit enough to go on a daily bike ride. That usually eats up at least two hours of my day. Then I try to keep busy writing emails and playing Football Manager 2020.

If anyone reading this plays FM20 please let me know. That game is so addictive.

Night time visitors swishing around the room. Haha.

At a very you g age, my dad tried to calm me down as I was scared that there might be monsters under the bed, plus there was this hideous life-sized clown hanging on a closet door.

He told me. "It's okay. They're friendly monsters. They won't hurt you."

My biggest form of exercise on a day like today is probably walking to the fridge to get a beer.

Well, it sounds like you're doing better than most as far as having a decent attitude and realising we need to move our bodies and smell the fresh air.

I liked reading this list. It makes me think of something I heard in college.

He said his best advice to give anyone is "To pay attention to detail."

My favorites were Reliability, Resilience, and Fitness, yet the rest seem like a great idea too.

Football all day. To me that's not weird at all. Now the 50-mile bike ride? Well...given my current physical abilities and condition that just sounds impossible to me. But hey, a little at a time, right? Enjoy your Monday and your bike ride.

1. I am definitely looking shaggy! I last got a haircut in November ... maybe?
2. I don't have TV as such. I have an old Toshiba with a built in VCR. I sit close.
3. Yep. I do use my can opener. Tricky with some cans. Pull tabs are convenient.
4. I have lots of notepads ... need to date the ones from the last 5 years.
5. I love the weight and feel of a book. For travel? Don't take any with me.

Dementia is a slow, sad decline. It's not at all pleasant for the 'victim', or the family/friends/care givers. It is a thief that robs everyone. With a young mind, hopefully, there is a connection made and retained.

My mother is 98. She used to be as sharp as a tack. And even now she can be. I like the idea of "the sunset madness hour" as a prompt. I'm just a tad older than you.

As I wrote ... I want the body, but I know the mind is more important.
