Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
What I'm going to suggest, {suser:tracker 1948}, is one of the first things I wrote after joining WDC. So it's "old" but still one of my favourites. I think you'll like it but that doesn't mean you have to. Just tell me the truth.

That's about 13 views/blog. My "Porthole" is only about 10/blog.
My first blog has 111k views but it dates back to the time when blogging was a 'thing'. Stats are interesting: "Married Female, age 40-49, with College Degree education." Which tells me more about the site than anything else. Only 15 views by members in the last 30 days but 705 non-member views.
I've kept track of views for years. My blog may be personal but seldom private. I strive to connect at times; sometimes I don't bother. Be gladdened by comments. I have many entries without any.
I am in a process of learning to speed up my production of short stories, so GoT came along at the right moment. And so far it's working! So be of good cheer, Angel - it's possible to accelerate!
Well, I’ve exploded all my previous reviewing records by being part of it, so I guess I’m enjoying it too. The creation of original content is frustrating for me because I approach stories very slowly, and I’m stuck trying to combine the Door 9 prompt with the Quotation Inspiration, which as far as I’m concerned could take me the rest of the month! I need to spin some stuff off, but I so desperately want everything I write to be “perfect” and not to clutter my port with cheap, careless things written to collect points. It’s a weird process.
Yesterday I noticed that it's been 28 days since I updated this blog. Clearly, it was time to set my impressive brain to the task of devising a post for the sadly neglected thing. So here's one of my famous (well they might be, posthumously) sayings:
