There must be thousands of observations and comments on the human condition by our predecessors over the past tens of thousands of years. Here are three such which I particularly like. Sun Tzu was a Chinese warlord who lived some 2,600 years ago. Omar Khayyam was a Persian poet and a polymath. Willa Cather was an American novelist. "A battle which can't be won is not worth fighting." Sun Tzu (c. 500 BC) "It is but a chequerboard of nights and days Where He with men for pieces plays Hither and thither it moves, mates and slays And then back in the box He lays." Omar Khayyam (1048-1131) "The heart of another is a dark forest, always, no matter how close it has been to one's own." Willa Cather (1873-1947) |
Life is random. Birth is random. No one ask if we want to be born. FATE decides the circumstances of our birth. Fate decides the course of our lives. Fate is neutral, unless it is controlled by a force beyond human understanding. Fate decides who enters our lives, how long they stay and when do they depart. Now, as I approach the end of my days, many things are clear to me, which previously were less clear or obscure. I will write more if fate will give me the strength. |
