My first blog entry! Wow. A few hours ago, I wasn't really sure what I should write about. Everyone makes it seem so easy - just find a topic and type about it. Some people even said that I didn't need a topic to write about. So, as I stared at this intimidatingly huge text box, I was desperately searching for answers of what to write about. I mean, first impressions are important, right? I knew I couldn't mess this up. Then I knew that if people are going to even read my blog, they will probably want to know about the author first. So that's when I decided to write about myself (honestly, this is one of my favorite subjects; I can talk about myself for hours!). For today's blog entry, you'll get to learn a little bit about me. But, before you start, you should probably know that I'm thirteen years old.

What are some things you like to do in your free time?

There are lots of things I like to do. One of the most obvious things is what I'm doing now - writing. I write make-believe stories all the time; most of the time just for fun. I also love to read. Some of my most favorite books are a part of book series: the Harry Potter series, Twilight, the Hunger Games, and Divergent. There are obviously a lot of other books I favorite out there as well, but those are the ones I can name off of the top of my head.

I also like to watch tv. My favorite tv show of all time is Once Upon a Time (although the seventh season is awful). The show I am currently watching is Vampire Diaries. If you're watching it, please comment who your favorite character is. Mine is Damon Salvatore all the way.

What are some of your "Favorite Things"?

Honestly, most of my favorite things change within every day. It mainly depends on what mood I am in. For example, my favorite singer used to be Olivia Rodrigo (do you see the keywords, used to be?). Here are some of my current favorite things, though.

Color: Baby Blue
Animal: Elephants (always has been and always will be)
TV Show: Stranger Things
Movie: ???
Food: Ribs or anything that has sugar as an ingredient
Flowers: Daffodils
Store: Barnes and Noble
Drink: Water
Sport: Basketball (although I cannot play it)
Ice cream Flavor: Mint chocolate-chip

Who are your best friends? Why are these people your best friends?

I don't have any best friends at the moment, besides my mom. This school year is a fresh start for me, and I hope to find a couple of new, better friends for myself!

This is all for today. I hope you like this! Feel free to comment or give a review. Be as honest as you like, I love when people give me feedback!!

Love you guys :)

I know that this is my second blog entry today, but I am worried that I won't have time to make one tomorrow. You will see why in a second.

Let's rewind a little today. I got in trouble this morning before I got to school (which involved slamming doors obnoxiously and a little bit of yelling), which resulted in me not being able to go to the dance earlier. All actions have consequences, so I guess I had that coming for me. Although it was disappointing, I learned my lesson.

Tomorrow my parents are going to Joplin for their anniversary. This means that after school my brothers and I are going to be at my grandparent's house. My grandparent's house is huge. Three stories, it has eight bedrooms (two of which they actually use) and three different living areas. It has an incredibly large backyard, which must take forever to mow, but nonetheless. It's huge. They live sort of out in the country so they only have a few neighbors. I can't wait to stay the rest of the weekend at their house. My aunt, who is strangely only a few years older than me, is going to be there. We usually battle against our Just Dance moves to see who is better.

I don't think anything too exciting will happen tomorrow (besides everything I just told you) but if there is anything I will try to get back to you guys on Monday. We have MAP testing Monday and Tuesday next week so I probably will be busy. Please try to keep this in mind if I don't get back to you very quickly :)

See you guys later! I will try to write a blog entry tomorrow if I have time, but I cannot guarantee it.

I know it is early, but I won't be able to write tonight because there is something big happening tonight. Tonight is the dance. Or Spring Fling. Or festival. Whatever you want to call it (every time I call it a dance someone just has to say "It's not called a dance, it's the 7th grade Spring Fling" Whatever, same thing pretty much.).

Wish me luck guys :)

In health today, we watched a disturbing movie called Supersize Me. Sound familiar? If it does, does the name bring back some extremely unpleasant memories? I know that in the future, this name will definitely bring a bit of bile up my throat.

The first repulsing thing was whenever Morgan Spurlock threw up. It may not sound that bad, but the thing that really hit me hard was whenever the cameraman zoomed in on his puke. No thanks.

The other thing was the surgery. A man was going into surgery to get his fat removed (at least I think that's what was happening), and they showed a little too much. At least for me. I can barely handle seeing someone getting a shot, let alone a full on surgery after I just had breakfast.

We are watching another movie in health called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Wish me luck!

Nothing too exciting happened today, so I'll just give you a rerun of my whole day.

This morning, around five-thirty while I was getting ready for school, I started to feel light-headed. It went to where I got so dizzy that I had to support myself on the bathroom counter. On top of that, I had really bad congestion and my stomach wasn't feeling the best, either. I went to my mom's room, and asked her if I could stay home from school today. When she said yes, I went back to my room and took a three hour nap.

The next thing I knew, my mom was in my room waking me up. "How're you feeling?" She had asked me.

"Better," I replied lazily.

"Do you want to go to school?" I hadn't been expecting this question. No I didn't want to go to school. I had glanced up at my clock to see what time it was. 8:22. I thought it was at least ten o'clock by now.

"No, my stomach still hurts," I told her. My mom thought I was faking it and made me come to school anyways.

It was about halfway through second period whenever Mom brought me to school. I walked into the gym, where everyone in my PE class was doing a Just Dance. When I walked in, they all screamed, "Emma!" and ran toward me.

After PE, I was practically dying in math. I didn't want to do anything. Sure, our math teacher, Mr.Stolte, is nice, but his class is extremely boring. I couldn't focus.

By the end of the day, I got three invitations to three separate birthday parties. This wasn't what surprised me, though. The thing that surprised me was that they were all on the exact same day!

I'd love to hear how your day was. Feel free to tell me!

Of course, today I forgot my important science project at home. I had only just realized it whenever I was on the bus to school. So whenever I called my dad to ask him to bring it to school, this is what happened:

*Keep in mind that this was all on speaker phone. There were a lot of people sitting around Tessa and I on the bus.

My baby brother, Cameron, starts screaming in the background. I winced from the loud noise. "HELLO?" My dad had yelled into the phone. "WHO IS THIS?"

"Um... this is Emma, Dad. I was just calling because-"

"WHAT?" Cameron was still crying in the background.

"This is Emma," I said slowly but loudly. Tessa started giggling next to me. I leaned to the side and asked Tessa what she was laughing about.

"You're yelling. Everyone is staring at us," she whispered, still overcome with laughter. I looked around, sure enough, they were.

I went back to the phone but took it off of speaker phone. "This is Emma. I was just calling you to tell you that I forgot my science project at home. Can you please bring it to school for me? It's sitting on my-"

"WHAT? Oh, this is something your mom can do. Hang on," my dad said. A new voice came onto the phone.

"Yes, Emma?" My mom asked. I was relieved that she wasn't yelling like Dad was.

"I forgot my science project at home. I think it's on the blue chair in my room. Can you please bring it to school for me?" I repeated for what seemed like the thousandth time.

She replied with a simple, "Yeah, sure. I'll drop it off at the office soon." Then she hung up. She understood things so much more clearly than Dad did.

After that ridiculous phone call, Tessa and I went into a rampage of laughter. It was pretty funny.

Last night my mom and I got into an argument, and we both said things we regretted. At twelve o'clock in the morning, I went into her room and said sorry. After that we both bawled into each other's arms, and watched One Tree Hill until 5 AM.

This blog entry is a shout out to my mom, who I realized today is my best friend and always will be. I love you!

What is the worst part about school dances? Answer: everything that happens BEFORE the dance.

Next week on Thursday, I have my first school dance. Today my mom and I are supposed to be shopping for dresses. This is how our conversation went this morning...

"So, Emma, what kind of dresses do you want to look at?" My mom asked.

I thought about it for a second and answered, "I don't know."

"Well that's not helpful. The dance theme is Cowboy and Western. Want to do anything similar to that?"

"No. I think that's the dumbest school dance theme ever - I don't know who picked that. I don't think anyone at school is going to dress up like that anyway," I explained to her.

"How about your easter dress? Do you want to wear that?" Mom was desperately trying to search for what dress I wanted to wear. I thought back to my easter dress. It had green and teal designs on it, and stopped just above my knee. It was tighter at the top and fluffy past my waist.

"I don't think so. It doesn't really seem like a school dance dress."

So now I am currently trying to figure out what dress to wear. Remember, this is a big dance - my first one! Any ideas on what type of dress to wear? Please submit your idea as a comment or email me. I'm desperate for ideas!

In science, we have been making projects out of shoe boxes. I was squished in between Aspen and Olivia, trying to perfect my masterpiece. Olivia made a comment about my poorly-made Marbled Polecat, to which I responded with a light laugh. And in that small moment, my elbow bumped into my shoe box, sending the cup of paint water right in front of it everywhere.

Of course, Daniel had to be the person right in front of me. I watched the water in slow motion as it went all over Daniel's box. And, if you remember yesterday's blog entry, we have already not started on a good foot.

I started laughing out of embarrassment and went over to the other side of the room to get paper towels. Daniel was there too, wiping off his box.

"Great job, Emma," he said sarcastically. I flushed.

"Well, I'm sorry, Daniel," I replied back, matching my tone to his. I rolled my eyes and walked away, trying to clean up the mess.

So, yeah. That was my embarrassment of today.

You may think I'm being dramatic when I say this, but my social life at school is ruined! This blog entry will tell you the full story...

It was Study Hall, the last class before school ended. I had been sitting at my table silently playing Wordle on my chromebook whenever Natalie came up to me.

"So..." she had said mysteriously. "Am I invited to your wedding?"

I had to think for a moment. "My wedding?" I asked her.

"Yeah. Aspen said that you were having an arranged marriage."

At that moment I had suddenly jumped out of my chair. This wouldn't be the first time Aspen had done something like this, so I automatically believed Natalie. "Married to who?!" I shouted. Without waiting for an answer, I had made my way to Aspen's table, snatched her chromebook out of her hands, and looked at her screen. Sure enough, what Natalie said was true.

On the screen had been a pink flyer with lacy letters saying, "Emma and Daniel's First Date. April 30th at J.R. Martin Park."

My jaw dropped. I had looked at Aspen, who was smiling mischievously, her wildly curly hair making her face look darker.

I took her chromebook and walked over to Olivia. I slammed Aspen's chromebook onto her desk. "Look," I groaned. I jabbed my finger at the computer screen. Olivia moved her blonde hair from her face as her blue eyes scanned the flyer. When she finished, a small laugh escaped from her mouth.

I had known why Olivia was laughing. The person that Aspen had supposedly set me up with was Olivia's crush. Aspen knew that. What Aspen also knew was that Daniel and I absolutely hated each other. It was the only thing we could bond over.

"Oh, don't worry, Olivia," Aspen had called over to us. "I made one for you, too." I looked at Aspen's chromebook again, switching to another tab. Another poster wrote, "COLIVIA. Colin and Olivia's First Date on April 30th. J.R. Martin Park."

Olivia had given Aspen one of her famous death glares and tried to delete what Aspen had made. Instead, Aspen came to our table and took the chromebook from our hands. "I'm gonna send it to him," I heard Aspen say.

"WHAT?!" Olivia and I both yelled at the same time. We both rushed over to her, neither one of us actually thought she would do it.

But guess what. She did.

And guess what. They saw it. Both of them.

So, yeah. You may still think I'm being dramatic, or just a weird old teenager, but this is serious to me. News like this can get around school faster than you can snap your fingers. My social life is officially over.
