Megan and I are at it again! We give each other TWO prompts to write this time!
[Introduction]
Thanks to my wonderful friend, Princess Megan Rose GOT Fox , we are at it again!

This two person campfire involves me and my friend Princess Megan Rose GOT Fox - our first one lasted a little over 2 years and 3 months and we wrote 100 entries! Let's see how long it takes us to get to 100 this time!.

We will take turns giving each other Two Words this time!

Just as before, we can either write a poem or a paragraph (no more than 5 sentences) using both words Each of us can choose whatever form we want for the prompts - so it is total freedom on form and content.

Whatever we do, it should be a fun writing exercise that will keep us on our toes. Or in my case on my nail tips! *Smile*

To keep this moving it will be just the two of us. *Smile* Hopefully I will MOOve my hand a little quicker this time!

Thanks for being in it, Princess Megan Rose GOT Fox ! *Heart* I hope you accept my invitation!

Behold

Behold the day ungodly hot
Cool my passion, indeed, do not

Love the night for all its demons
Spread the fire, abandon reason

Behold the falling leaves aground
Dance winter snow laces the ground

Hate the day for all its sunshine
Snuggle fireside, Strawberry wine

Behold the end, breathe in my last
Seasons obliterate life's past.

Megan, your two words are: "dance" and "lace"
A southern lady dances and flirts at the ball. The big event is in her honor given by her parents. She is dressed in a blue silk dress and a beauty is she. Lace adorns her clothes under her dress. Her parents hope she will find a man she wants to marry.

Your Words are: Honor and Marriage

Jane Austen's Lament

To pledge your heart
and hand in marriage
You arrive full on
in Darcy's carriage

Mistaken pride will out
Or so it seems
Honor answers not to
Mr. Bennett's midnight dreams!

Your words are: "Sunrise" and "moonlight"
Sunrise, sunset. We see so many of these in our life as years pass. The sun warms the land as well as our hearts. Moonlight at night, seeing animals at play brings a smile to your face even if you have had a bad day. The moon can be spooky but it beautiful as well.

Your Words are: Hearts and Beautiful

Bridge Hand Metaphor

Name hearts as trump
Play your cards well
Live life each day
Beautiful spell

Spades win the hand
Unbalanced knave
Take your point score
Winning the grave

Megan your words are "point" and "spell"
She was a beautiful Princess.
She was his one desire.
He was under her spell.
She set his heart on fire.

The Princess loved him in return.
Their romance would last a life time.
The point was she wanted him forever.
True love was never a crime.

Your Words are: Desire and Forever
Memories of N. Orleans

There is a city on the water
Settings of some films, that's true
One, A Streetcar named Desire
Scream for Stella, Brando's view

Music fills the streets forever
Memory takes you there in time
New Orleans, a lonely clarinet
French Quarter beignets so sublime....

Powdered sugar on our noses
From Cafe du Mondes to cajun food
More vibrant city nowhere
Dance your heart into the mood

Your words are "Music" and "Streets"
Do you ever catch your self dancing to a song you love in a store you are shopping at? Someone will look at you and smile. You get embarrassed but I have caught others singing songs and you know they enjoy music like you do. I go out into the streets singing but I don't dance. The song DANCING IN THE STREETS has been recorded by several artists. Singing and dancing are nothing to be ashamed of. It just means you are happy!

Your Words are: Shopping and Artists

I was hoping to do a poem but I didn't come up with one. I am over by two sentences but I hope this will be enjoyed and bring a smile to one's face as they read this. Hopefully, my Poet side will be back later. Love: Megan Thanks, Carol!

A year ago May, I traveled by plane to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I went by myself to meet someone I had only known online and over the telephone since 2000 so it was an adventure to be sure. The shopping at the Mall of America, which was across the street from my hotel, is something to behold - that place is so big that I couldn't walk the whole thing at once and I walk at least a mile almost every day. There was an artist's feel to the area by the University - where Bob Dylan once lived and wrote Positively 4th Street. We walked by the Mississippi River and it was a beautiful time that I will always remember.

Megan, your words are: "remember" and "September"
The month of September. Summer is coming to an end. Memories of summer. What you will remember the most? Maybe a summer love or a trip to the Smokey Mountains or days at the Beach. Winter will be here soon and maybe warm days of the past summer will keep you warm as the snow and the cold arrive.

Your Words are: Summer and Mountains
Megan, it is summer again and I am at last somewhat with it. Mountains are beautiful in the summer, aren't they? I cannot believe it is so long since I looked in here but pain clouded everything for a long time. At last I am coming out into the sunshine. Thank you for your patience as always, my dear friend!

Your words are: Patience and Ocean
I love to watch the ocean rides come in. It makes me feel peaceful and gives me patience to do anything at that moment. Picking up seashells on the beach make beautiful decorations. God made the oceans and I am glad he did. Fantasies and dreams can be found as you watch the ocean.

Your Words are: Decorations and Fantasies Carol, I am glad you are back. I missed you. Love and Hugs: Megan

The seasons pass amid celebration and decorations. As I get older my fantasies involve the past more and more. As summer has its Fourth of July, Fall has its Halloween. Winter has its Christmas and spring has Easter. Time passes so quickly that it is more and more difficult to hold on to memories.

Your words are: seasons and memory
Christmas season.
Snow, cold, Santa-
Presents, love, family-
and oh the memories!

Summers with my grandparents,
Fairs, Country Music Shows,
Going to church with grandma.
Riding the tractor with grandpa.

Memories of airplanes,
Dad was in the Air Force.
Off to Viet Nam he went for-
three tours of duty.

Dad flew planes,
Mom made friends with-
other Air Force wives.
I. too made friends and went to school.

Autumn, winter, spring and fall.
Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.
Seasons and holidays come and go.
Memories are forever.

My grandparents are gone.
My son has been married for years.
My husband and I are happy.
I scrapbook, write and cherish everyday.

Your Words are:
Friends and Grandparents
Distant Plains

See them in the distance
Waving goodbye
Always in the distance
In my mind's eye

My grandparents, farmers
high in the plains
Iowa farmers
Not famous by name

Friends and relations
all distant, all gone
Time holds them close
Ties are so strong

Grandpa raised cattle
My friends at the gate
Grandma raised chickens
Up early, never late

Gone many years
My mother's mother
Will I see you again?
And grandpa, Ned and others?

I visit your hillsides,
Your valleys, your plains
Corn bends in the meadow
Till I see you again

Megan, your words are: plains and again
Settlers crossed the plains years ago to get to new territories to set up new lives. They encountered Indians and hardships along the way. They had hopes and dreams. Those who arrived and got got the lives they wanted, never regretted their decisions. They would have done it again and most of them did find the happiness they sought.

Your Words are: Happiness and Encountered

Happiness is something you feel when you break free of the past and find your way to writing again. I have encountered many obstacles along the way, but I always somehow find my way back to writing again.

Sorry for the big delay, (((Megan)))). I'll try to do better!

Your words are: October and Pumpkin
I love October. I love orange and white pumpkins on my steps and around the house. The leaves are so pretty when they change colors.I like the rain and I like Halloween. What nice soothing reflections. I wish October and autumn would stay all year round.

Your Words Are: Soothing and Reflections

Soothing Reflections

Mirroring my inner demons;
The lake relfections dance and scheme.
Sometimes strange, sometimes soothing,
Mocking me as in a dream.

Leaves tumble down all around me,
Reminding me of such a fall.
Remember when the world was different?
Life went on and came the call.

Time goes by, as in a prism,
Leaving grief and misery in its wake.
Season's the same, yet so different,
Happiness elusive, a choice to make.

Shall I wallow ever crying,
Lingering footsteps in the past.
Grave on a hill by, a pine tree,
In my mind you're here at last.

Megan, your words are:
demon and prism
Demons can be more then little guys from the dark place. They can be fears. I worry about world problems and illnesses. I wish I had a prism to make them disappear in the sun. Better yet I have God.

Your Words are: Dark and Fears
Vampire

It is the light that frightens me,
Not the dark that lies beneath

Fears take hold in day's bright light
Guiding me on endless flight

Run away from all that scares,
To a place under the stairs.

Find your hope in dreams of blood,
Endless night rain soaked with mud.

Find my place alone at last,
In the meal of night's repast.

Megan, your words are: destiny and hope
Hey: I like your Vampire Poem. I decided to write one, too. Enjoy! Love You: Megan

I am a Vampire Princess
Not by choice you see.
It wasn't my idea.
It was my destiny.

I was born centuries ago.
I was born into royalty.
I was a spoiled Princess but
being a vampire was my destiny.

He was a handsome man.
He was a prince among men.
A vampire was he-
love to my heart did he send.

I was in love with him
but he deceived me.
With one bite
and no chance to flee.

There was no hope.
A vampire am I.
I had to flee from my family.
No one could hear me cry.

I am the Princess of the vampires.
I have no pity for my prey.
Like the one I loved,
I didn't have a say.

I learned to love my life as a vampire.
I never saw him again.
Love can be cruel.
As a vampire, I have my choice of men.

It is night.
It is Halloween.
Time to choose my victim.
I love being mean.

The Vampire Princess of the Night.
It is my destiny.
I live with my fate
but I am still royalty.

Your words are "spoiled" and "centuries"

October 19 2005 Poem

It seems like centuries,
This four years hence
Was I so blind?
So in suspense?

Was I too spoiled,
To stop and see?
You were there dying
In front of me.

Your anger left me,
So full of fear.
I loved you so,
Held you so dear.

You were my mother,
and my best friend.
You didn't know me,
There towards the end.

You saw in my eyes,
Those of your mother.
So your anger centered,
Not on my brother.

Did I keep my promise?
Made ten years back.
Or did I fail you,
Merit those attacks.

November Tuesday,
You came back so strong,
I was so happy,
Humming a song.

Within a day,
You were gone.
Still I wonder
What I did wrong.

You said, "nothing",
You didn't know.
I held your hand,
And felt you go.

On a snowy morning,
That November.
Ashes to Ashes,
Bury December.

I still love you,
This autumn season.
Wish I could learn
All the reasons.

And wherefores that,
It happened so.
Guess when I see you next,
Then, I'll know.

Megan, your words are "snow" and "villain"
I stand in the snow,
I watch my lover kiss another,
She won't have him for long.
One more bite and he will join me.

I am a vampire.
I love him so.
He looks exactly like-
the one I loved a long time ago.

He will soon be a vampire like me.
I am not a villain.
I have been alone for years.
I feel I have waited long enough.

He just walked her home.
I make my move.
I give him the final bite.
He is now a creature like me.

He wakes up to his new life.
He curses me and
yet he makes love to me.
We are together for eternity.

We hold hands,
We rule the night.
He loves me.
I am a happy Princess once more.

I am the Vampire Princess.
My lover the Vampire Prince.
The world is our kingdom
and we are feared and respected by all.

Your Words are: Creature and Curses
Halloween 2009

Creatures haunt my doorstep,
Spirit curses plague my nights.
Will you come and join my ranting?
On this most hallowed of flights?

On my broomstick, quick be gone!
Into the doom and dire November
Will you stay and drink my blood
As snow envelops December?

Sacred promise by the rising,
Echoes future in desire.
Hanging effigy burns the spring
Followed footsteps in the fire.

Take my heart one day in summer,
As the days lengthen too soon.
I will howl my murderous fight
By the still light of the moon.

Megan, your words are destroy and banish
The gypsy woman vowed that she would make the man pay for getting her daughter pregnant. She was tired of the villagers taking advantage of gypsy people. He had to be destroyed. A gypsy chant, a potion in the fire and by the glow of the moon, the curse was given. Yes! The man had been banished!

Your Words are: Chant and Advantage
Celtic Tribal Song

By moonlit night, I found the truth,
Advantage masked by wasted youth.

As cloudy day as yet unfolds,
The chant of tribal death is told.

Through Celtic flood and famine's wrath,
We found our Connemara path.

Though not of Indian descent,
My tribal roots to Sligo bent.

They found their way to distant shore,
The Chieftans' music calls to more.

We found our way to Matt Malloy's,
Westport beckons old girls and boys.

A night at Chrismas in a church,
Choir sings of timeless dear Lord's birth.

Find me in middle age of loss,
No restless seas afar to toss.

Megan, your words are "Thankful" and "Turkey". Happy Thanksgiving *Heart*

My family and I had a nice Thanksgiving. Making a turkey is a lot of work but it is worth it. I give Thanks for what I have and pray everyone will have peace and good things in their life. The snow will fall but it is beautiful and we can take comfort in that. Let the fires of your hearth warm your heart.

Your Words are: Hearth and Snow

Plow and Hearth

I drove the long familiar road,
through snow and wind and rain.
I found my way to what was home,
The hearth ablaze with flame.

I drove the long familiar road,
She scared me on the phone.
If it was my dad, I'd be there,
Was what her mean voice intoned.

I drove the long familiar road,
the day was dark November.
I could not bear to think of you,
You perished late December.

I drove the long familiar road,
that took me to your door.
Past Plow and Hearth, I never stopped,
Thinking you were there no more.

I drove the long familiar road,
It scares me to this day.
November 14th goes every year,
Remembering my trip that way.

I drove the long familiar road,
To take you to your rest.
On a hillside near Rockland Avenue,
With you our lives were blessed.

Megan, your words are: wreath and snowflake
A snowflake fell on the wreath she got from him.
She had to brush it away.
The snow kept falling-
along with her tears.

He wasn't here this year.
Missing in action.
That is what the letter said.
She needed him so.

The wreath had been-
arranged to be sent before
he became missing.
It meant the world to her.

Memories of him and her by the beach.
She went back into the house.
Last Christmas, they hadn't a care.
A year later, missing in Iraq.

Back in the house.
Cat on her lap.
Looking at his picture.
Watching snowflakes fall.

She loved him so.
She missed him so.
A car was approaching.
A US Army Car!

She froze.
This would be the worst news.
Two men dressed in uniform got out.
One was coming to the door.

Another man opened
the back door of the car.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Yes! It was him! The love of her life.

He looked so handsome
as he walked with a limp.
She opened the door
and ran into his arms.

He kissed her and told her
he was home for good.
He looked at the wreath
as the snow stopped falling.

It was the best Christmas ever.
The woman was laughing again.
He presented her with a ring.
The wreath seemed to glow.

A Christmas Wreath.
A couple in love.
Maybe the world will be at
peace someday.

Your Words are: Peace and Glow
Liam

And so she beckoned him,
Come over the hill to your darling.
The voices sang through the peace of night,
Candle's glow warmed hearts long since forsaken.

And so he followed her,
Over that hill to his darling.
Summoning what little strength was left,
After the long battle that always is lost.

And so, we follow him in peace from Cork,
Over that hill as we hear his voice.
The fear diminishes in the fullness of time,
Faith is what remains, the echo of a life well lived.

Megan, your words are: strength and summon
Sometimes it summons all my strength to go to work at night. When it is snowing, it is even harder but I make it. God is my co-pilot. I never forget the good things in my life. That adds to my strength.

Your Words Are: Forget and Life

I will never forget how much a blessing life is, especially good health and having people who care. Maybe they don't remember to say it every day, but they do care and I can feel that. At this time of year, I miss my mother and dad, but I know that if I am lucky, I will see them again in the great beyond. I miss my grandpa Archie today too, as it is the date that he passed a long time ago.

Your words are: holly and mistletoe
She walked across the dance floor,
Her dress with a big bustle swaying,
A beautiful green velvet dress she wore
a lovely red head was she.

This was her Ball given by her parents,
A Christmas Ball, the social event of he season.
Boughs of holly decorated the room.
She held her head high like a Princess.

She batted her eyes at all the men.
A shameless flirt was she.
She loved living in the nineteenth century.
She felt like the Queen of England.

There was no need for this Ball.
She had her eye on a Count.
after all, she was a Baron's daughter.
She headed straight for the mistletoe.

The Count was there waiting.
A handsome dark haired man
with piercing blue eyes and a
captivating, devious smile.

The Baroness kissed him passionately!
Shocked all the guests!
Her engagement was announced at once.
They were a couple in love.

The Baroness and Count were married.
So happy were they.
No one would ever forget their
shameless kiss under the mistletoe!

Your Words Are: Captivating and Shameless
Christmas 1994

There was a season long ago,
Captivating us with the illusion
That we would all live forever.
We were shameless in our belief.

Little did we know that destiny
Marks the day our world would end.
Looking back, it seems too obvious now.
But we were younger and so naive.

Hindsight always has the vision.
That is what living is all about.
Shall we continue on these paths?
I don't think we have a choice.

If I could have chosen so long ago.
I would have chosen to be there.
Would I really?
The phone call at 1:44 pm is all that remains.

Your words are: Shamrock and green!
Another St. Patrick's Day. Time for shamrocks and put on your green. If you don't, you will get pinched! Maybe you will be lucky to see a leprechaun and get a pot of gold. This is the magic of St. Patrick's Day.

Your Words Are: Magic and Lucky
