 There was a friend of mine on murderAnd the judge's gavel fell Jury found him guilty Gave him sixteen years in hell He said "I ain't spending my life here I ain't living alone Ain't breaking no rocks on the chain gang I'm breakin' out and headin' home!"  Hi, SCREAMERS. I hate to say this, but I'm going to have to shut "SCREAMS!!!"  down at the end of this week.  There's more than one reason for this, but the main one is that there's so much going on in my life lately that I won't be able to devote as much time to this contest OR WdC.I know a lot of you are going to be disappointed, and I don't blame you. I started this contest on December 1st, 2014 after I took over The Daily Slice and renamed it 'SCREAMS!!!' because I didn’t want it to die. At that time, there just wasn't enough interest in horror, and the previous owner didn't want to deal with it anymore. Sadly, that seems to be the case once more. But we've had a pretty good run for the last 5 plus years, so I'm happy that my judges and I inspired you to write. And write you did! You wrote some of the most frightening and incredible tales of terror I've ever seen, so I thank you for that! So as of Sunday, April 7th, I'll judge the final entries and the contest will come to a close. Maybe one day I'll start it up again, but for now, it is what it is. !sloof lirpA OK. For today I'd like a wazillion horrific tales about... BATS or... ONE OF THOSE STORIES YOU NEVER FINISHED OR DIDN'T GET INTO THE CONTEST ON TIME (yeah, like we did a few weeks ago! So it doesn't have to be new, but it can't be one you entered before!) Sound good? Well, even it doesn't, those are your prompts, so you're stuck with 'em!  Ready? Set? Go! |
