Writer's Market
For anybody who drops in here, if you don't already have a copy, get Writer's Market, this is essential because they've already done all the market searching for you. You still have to write query letters, and such, but at least you'll know where to try to market your work. You look like an idiot if you try to submit erotica to a children's mag, and vice versa.

Get a subscription to the mag, too, if you can afford it. It will really turn out to be cheap thrills, if you only learn one new thing from it.
