Write poetry from prompts just for the fun of it; formal or free verse, you pick.

Prompt # 7

Prompt#7.
[Write a poem about a thing or things in your possession with little or no monetary value and insignificant to others but mean a lot to you.]

The Fabric Stash

Ah to own a stash is really quite a joy
Textures an' colors peek out from every
crook n' cranny
Fabrics that are too worthy to be dwindled
They must be saved for the right inspiration.
Inspiration occurs while the stores are closed!
Now you know why we sew-ers must have a stash!

Fabric Stashers are as different as the desert n' sea
Natural fabric-holics, quilters and any fabric will do

Fabric stash shoppers, browse for hours
Admiring, the colors, touching all the textures
They know the instant a fabric screams out
Buy Me! Buy Me!
They have to have it!

Natural fabric, fabri-holics shop by
5 meter lengths of one fabric

Quilter, fabri-holics shop by
the meter of several co-ordinating fabrics

Any fabric will do, shop for
sheer pleasure of a sale
Average cut 5-10 meters of one fabric

The average for a fabric stasher
is 20 meters per shopping spree

Here I am behind the cutting tabling,
observing the shoppers,
The biggest Fabri-holic is me!
My pay is spent before I leave my shift.
