Welcome Trekkers. Have a cup of Klingon Raktajino, and enjoy our friendly Starbase. |
Hey Guys, This past week as I've been unwinding after a day of work, I've started watching the ole Star Trek movies again. I watched & enjoyed Star Trek 2 - The Wrath of Khan. Man, I've never seen an old guy with pecs like those... and I enjoyed Star Trek 3 - The Search For Spock and its tie in with Star Trek 4 - Voyage Home. I found a new point to nitpick or ponder about... At the end of Star Trek 3 when Kirk sees an unconscious Spock on the ground, he takes off his red coat and puts it over him. Then Kirk throws the Klingon Captain over the cliff on Planet Genesis, picks up Spock (the coat drops onto the ground) and he and Spock are beamed on board the Klingon Bird of Prey, leaving behind the coat on the exploding planet. Then when the Bird of Prey makes it to Vulcan to take Spock's Katra out of McCoy and put it back into Spock, Kirk's wearing the red jacket again. Then in Star Trek 4, Kirk is wearing the red jacket around San Francisco in the 1980's. What supposition can we take here...? a - They beamed the jacket up from the planet's surface before the Genesis planet exploded? b - They stopped off somewhere on the way to Vulcan and bought Kirk a new one? c - The Vulcan's had one spare and ran on board ship and gave it to him before he came out? d - The red coat, like Spock, was regenerated from the Genesis effect? (But how did it get back on Kirk?) e - You can be quiet now narnia3 and here, have another glass of wine... ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (A conversation between O'Brien and Bashir, ST: DS9, 'Take Me Out to the Holosuite') B - "What are you eating?" O - "I'm not eating, I'm chewing." B - "Chewing what?" O - "Gum, it's traditional. I had the replicator create me some." B - "You just... chew it?" O - "No, they infuse the gum with flavour." B - "What did you infuse it with?" O - "Scotch." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
