You've been transported to Europe, ca 1000 AD. Can you survive, or better yet, thrive?

WWID?
What Would I Do?

Be glad I know Latin, for starters - even if mine is more the classical Latin than the Medieval. It would be a start.

Assuming I could arrive at my destination, I would opt for Ireland. As a woman in Ireland, I would have a few more rights than in most of Europe at the time. I would head for the nearest building and steal some clothing. After that, I would see about learning the language - full immersion! Once I'd gleaned a few scraps of knowledge, I would attempt to get myself apprenticed as a weaver, or barring that, marry one! I know how to weave, and dye, and the lot.

The language barrier would be the big one. I could - by necessity - get used to the clothing, the locale, the food, the so on and so forth. As a woman who knew Latin, I would be of great use to merchants and the like, since most business is conducted in Latin. (lways assuming I remember my history classes correctly!)
