Re: Re: Re: Who do you write for?
A simple question with multifaceted answer. First and foremost, I write for me. If the story doesn't really interest me, if I don't have some kind of significant, emotional investment, I have uber trouble writing a simple paragraph. I've written via both storyboard (outline), and by stream of conciousness (just wing it and see where it goes.) Regardless of the method, I need to have that "Dang, I wonder what happens next?" feeling every time I finish a session. And yes, that even applies to outlines, but that's a whole 'nutter topic for another day.

However, as I encounter readers who have developed a similar investment in my stories, I tend to write with them in mind. I want them to be entertained. But I can't just write for the reader. Some writers can, and they do it very well. I'm not one of them.
