We pause
That pause, the kind that sings ballads and paints da vinci
Everything beautiful in this world is shrunk and placed between our lips in the pause right before you kiss me
The stars are shattered pieces of glass, a child’s imagination, a fleeting thought compared to us
We burn hot
Our light is not white that can be seen in the dark, but the hue of a deep wine
Its gravity pulls eternity towards our center, earthquakes when we touch
That pause before we kiss… and then buildings fall around us
