I have written a 55,000 word novel/novella and I am grappling with making chapter 1 identical to a chapter deep in the book as a way to hook the reader. The only difference is I don't give away the ending of the chapter which is critical to the suspense of the book. I have read books before that lead their book with something almost or virtually identical to a chapter downt he road. Is this a good technique?
