I never wanted this fate for you. When you were part of me, nestled beneath my heart, I wondered who you would be, what you would love. I thought you would find love and happiness, peace and comfort. I never dreamed that we would sit here, together at the end of your life. That you would hold my hand and tell me that you were dying. That I would be left alone again.
Children are supposed to be a future, not an ending. I thought you'd live on, bring flowers to my grave and tell stories of me to grandchildren I never met.
