6/21 The Pallet Wood Tree House

Mark was no carpenter but, he was determined that this summer was not going to pass by again without building him a tree house. This had always been a dream of his and he was finally going to get it done this summer. Question was, could he build it?

Mark started making a list of tools he would need. As far as tools go he would need a hammer, saw, tape measure, crowbar, and saw horses. His dad had all the tools he needed in their garage. As far as materials, he had very little money to buy lumber with. He remembered that the local feed store always had pallet lumber behind their store that was just trashed. He called and talked to the manager and they were more than happy for Mark to come and take all he wanted.

Mark had his tools and materials. He got his buddy Gary from down the street to help, and they were ready to build.

They had the perfect tree behind Mark’s house. The limbs were big and strong and not real high.

“OK Mark” Gary said. Let's get building.

Mark gathered up all the tools. The materials were all there and ready to go. Mark's dad had used his truck and he and Mark had hauled a load of pallets to the back of the house.

As construction commenced, Mark and Gary sawed and cut and hammered for a week. They had built a good sturdy stand and braces that the tree house sat on and the tree house began to take shape.

By the end of the week, Mark and Gary were looking at a completely finished tree house. They were pretty proud.

The rest of the summer was spent hanging out in Mark’s brand new pallet wood tree-house.
