We make sense of the world by making categories, drawing borders around the familiar. And those things outside the familiar? The things Outside?

Write a scene in which a character encounters something alien or foreign.

*NoteB* What is this thing really? Is it truly alien to the world or just something further afield than the characters' experience?
*NoteB* What do the characters think of it? How do they react?
*NoteB* What similarities does this thing have to things that exist in the world and what parts of it are strange or unfamiliar?
