Although I have asked and answered that question many times, I always seem drawn to continually ask it again and again. Who is a writer? I really don't know why it is - or maybe I do - but that little voice in the back of my mind is always trying to convince me that real writers get paid for what they write. I had never been paid for anything I had written. Did that prove that I was not a real writer?
Writers always want to believe the best when it comes to their abilities. Maybe that questioning voice is there to keep us from going off the rails as concerns our own talent. Anyway, who is to say that a check would ever hush that questioning voice.
