Question about contests
by A Non-Existent User
I was wondering: Should I practise writing for a few more years before entering contests? I'm thinking of waiting for maybe two more years. People will probably say I can enter a contest at any stage but it seems pointless if I'm up against people who have over ten years of practise. Wouldn't I be setting myself up for disappointment? I'm guessing some may have up to thirty years of practise....maybe even forty years. I started writing fiction in July, 2015 (that's three years and almost three months experience). I have been a book worm for a long time but I don't know if that adds to my skill set in anyway.
