Re: Re: Staying afloat, aka. can you get out?
Hi Veritas!

To be honest, I'd be the happiest man on Earth, if the only thing I could do is write, regardless that I got paid for it or not. The reason why I self-published was due to the fact that I've got almost zero feed-backs on my previous works, so I thought I'd tap into Amazon's ebook powerhouse, and give it a go to reach a wider audience, which turned out to be a really bad experience. It was for free for a while it was available, and still nothing happened, just a handful of people read through the first chapters, according to the analytics. You see, I was really afraid of not being able to present this story, and I thought I owned at least that, to my one year of work. I don't want to be the next J.K. Rowling, I never intended, that was just to illustrate the extreme rarity of getting known by the public.

My super big concern was that I just couldn't complete any story, I've struggled with this ever since I've started writing (and lets just forget the fact that my stories were extremely poor in quality and I never was satisfied with them). Up until recently I didn't know why this kept happening, than I realized it had to do with time (and practice ofc). I just simply couldn't dedicate enough time to further develop my skills and to give time to be creative. The only reason why I was able to push out a book, was due to the fact that I went full time on this, just to see where I could go with this whole idea of scribbling. Over the years I've come to realize, that its not really worth doing something, if you can't dedicate yourself to it.

Thanks for your feedback!

Take care,
Marcel
