I'd say if you're looking for opinions n' stuff, I advise you to keep at least some of your stories or poems as brief as possible. While there is some truth to this, I think this can be detrimental in the draft stages of many works (including poems). The premise of writing a short piece just to get (re)views can also miss the point of writing as a whole. In initial drafts, it can be hard to see how long something's actually going to end up being, as I've discovered with my last two novelettes. I had it in my mind to have each story be about 5,000 words or so. Both stories ended up going three times over that due to either a character development that ended up needing more detail or a subplot that helped build tension that was otherwise missing. Aiming for brevity is useful for the revision process, but it's not the only consideration. Sometimes a bit more length is needed, and giving advice that implies that length should be taken out for the sake of getting attention is at best risky.
