I'm sorry, but I don't follow this question so I'm not sure if this answer helps but:

The GP miner is always opt-in, which means you must click to interact with it and start it manually.

We do not background mine or anything of that sort. It's provided as a way for folks with low cash-flow to earn Gift Points that they can use towards paid membership... and again, it's totally optional.
