How do I do this?
I have an idea that I am really exited about. I read a lot of manga as of lately and there is one manga that I am in love with, Original story, complex characters and the artwork is beautiful. I want to write a novel based on this manga and I want to follow the story and characters as written. In novel-form, It would be the same, but written differently. I am having a hard time finding contact info on the authors, but then I wondered how that works. Do you have to get permission to write a novel based on a comic or manga? I know that this story/manga would get a wider reader-base if it were done as a novel/book series. Their story is brilliant and I don't want to change anything with the story or characters. I just want to put it into a different format. I would give them total credit...I don't know how to proceed at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice??? Thank you in advance.
