Basically, what Choconut ~ House Targaryen said. A story is never really finished. You just make it as good as you can and submit it, and in half a year, you might look back at that particular piece and think wow, there's a lot of things I could've improved here, but the thing is, you couldn't at the time either because you've read through so many times or because your skill level was as high back then.
And as Choconut ~ House Targaryen also said, one of the best uses of WdC is to find people who can offer good feedback. I've found a writing group here at the site where I can get feedback on my stories before submitting to magazines, and that hasn't just improved those particular stories but my writing in general.
