you reading the wrong flash fiction, then :)

Most flash I've seen has a dark over-tone and twist at the end. not always a feel good story.

The biggest deal is that there's not a lot of time for try/fail. Just try and outcome. That's the conflict. I did one that's just a conversation about a conflict.

Flash is tight, so expect more telling than showing.

Read more published flash. It's a better example and has been gated (because of all the submissions, you're reading the best).

Also, write more. Just do it. Pare down a story to a scene. Set it up and dunk it. Like a joke.
