The conclusion would be that you deleted all/most of your email to Trash, and then purged the trash. Intentionally or not, remember doing it or not, perhaps while you were on the Email Folders Manage page. Deleting a folder is instant gone for any contents, with no undo.

In any case, if it isn't in the Trash folder, then it's gone for good.

To test that, you can try looking 3-4 times. Sometimes that request comes up showing empty even when there is email in there, and you have to reload a time or two.

Or you can click on Folders (the word) then on Go to Folder Summary in the right bottom corner of the Folder drop menu on that page, and see whether the Trash folder shows 0 email or not.
