The official Writing.Com Content Rating Support forum: questions, rating adjustments, etc. |
Greets, Yes, for better or worse, we have rules and standards. Our human moderators do their absolute best to apply these equally across Writing.Com. It's not a perfect system, but without ANY system, utter chaos ensues. There are sites without any rating -- we don't want to be one of those. So, we have to make lines, decisions, etc. To be clear: It's not a personal thing, no one is targeting you, judging you, etc etc. Moderators do their best to evaluate content based on our rating guidelines. Note that there's a search box on your blog. If you put the "f-bomb" into that search blank, it quickly returns the result... I did it for you -- so here's a direct link to the particular entry to help you out: A Pittance of a Poem from Sandy Supposes.... Obviously, everyone has their own ideas on whether a 13 year old should be using or reading that language. It's not really up for debate here -- agree or not, we've deemed that content as 18+. We apply that standard as consistently as possible across all items here on Writing.Com. But... In the end, something to seriously consider is how much the rating matters to you. Are you actually writing the blog to an audience of young teens? If you are, then consider editing that entry and requesting a reconsideration to move back down to 13+ from 18+. Best, ~~SM
