When I manage to log onto the site, I find myself looking at a lot of brief descriptions for various works. In a lot of cases, the brief description is all I see. I have no idea what type of item is being advertised or what the genre is. This got me thinking about those descriptions, since some really grab my attention while others lose my interest right away. What I'm wondering is what entices others to read a piece when they see the brief description. Are there certain words that catch your eye? Do you like brief descriptions that are complete sentences? How about brief descriptions that keep you from reading something? What aspects of a brief description might discourage you from clicking on something?
