Dawnalee Barnhart, This subject has been discussed off and on over the years. Technically, items posted here are not considered "published" but most publishers will reject an item that has been posted here if it has been open to the public. If you want to post something here you will later submit for publication, the wise thing to do is restrict access to Registered Authors or higher--perhaps even joining a group and setting access to "Group Only". You can set a Passkey so you can allow anyone you want to be able to view it but it is best to keep those outside of Writing.Com to a small group of Beta-Readers.
