Yes, AVG and other security software programs consider it a "malicious program" as many sites run it "behind-the-back" of users; doing it without the user acknowledging or knowing about it. Bad apples do spoil the bunch sometimes and this is, as you note, out of our hands.

All the same, our implementation of the program is completely opt-in (actually beyond opt-in as we're offer some GP compensation for it)... so we do continue to offer the program for those that can or wish to work around it.
