Noticing Newbies

Hi, everybody! I hope you're having a good day (or night)!
Although I have Japanese words written in the topic, I have no Japanese blood in me-- just simply learning the language in an on and off basis.

My name is Crystal, and I have been writing for around five years now. That is to say, I'm not an extremely good writer because (1) I have never really written full-blown novels before-- just simple one-shots or very short stories, (2) I have never taken formal creative writing courses and (3) I tend to keep my stories to myself, but I still like to do it because of my struggles of expressing my feelings.

I have an avid interest in anime, manga or manhua, otome games, and other Japanese franchises. Admittedly, I'm not caught up in the "trendy" anime though. . .not yet. You know, like BNHA. (u w u)

writing journey
Long story (kind of) short. . .

My first experience with writing outside of school assignments was writing fan-fiction, specifically of fandoms like Vampire Knight. . .especially Rima X Shiki. Eventually, I did write some Fairy Tail ones. . .and then Brave Frontier, the mobile game! I remember also writing fan-fiction and role playing for CreepyPasta as well. The good times～ (´ ∀ ` *)

After that, I stopped writing fan-fiction and moved on to write some original stories, though it was nothing too ambitious. Short stories, mostly gearing toward romance. That was mostly because I was highly influenced by Voltage and Shall We Date? games at the time, hahaha. (Right now, you can add CYBIRD to that list as well.) I continued making little stories that started to mix romance with other elements like supernatural, especially vampires or demons.

When I got more into otome games, I started wanting to participate in some myself, so I began writing stories in a kind of script-like format. I still do stories in that format still, especially if I think I can put it in a game later or something.

Right now, I think I do a mix of prose and script writing now. And, well, ever since various fandoms came in my radar—a couple including Touken Ranbu and Senjyushi / Senjuushi—I've gotten some fan-fiction mixed in there as well, hahaha. Along with reader-inserts (though not a ton).
