The Science Fiction Short Story Contest

Entries which vary from the topic, do not consider the prompt, or vary somewhat from the requested genre or format may still be posted and shared in the spirit of their intended contribution. However, this will count heavily against them in the judging. In this case, the essay is a clear response to the prompt, and so I'm fine with it being posted.

However, since the question was asked, I should caution Maya that an essay response, lacking plot, character development, and other elements of fiction as it does, is not really within the bounds of what I'm looking for. At some point, I'll probably add a little blurb on my judging criteria, but for now, procrastination strikes.
