Everyone has their writing process. In the end you have completed word art! |
Hi there! Welcome to the site! Good on you for practicing creating different items! I just stumbled here from your newsfeed post, but you may get more responses if you post in "Writing.Com General Discussion" I’ve always been challenged with this as well. I tend to write little scenes that aren’t really stories because they don’t have a defined conflict or ending For my Nano novel though, I knew I had to write an outline, or else I would never finish. I made an outline in a spreadsheet, which made it easier to move scenes around. You can also organize different subplots in different columns, or if your story follows multiple characters, you could have each character’s story be a separate column so you can keep track of them all. Mine was not that organized, but it ended up being about 4000 words long itself! From my experience, outlining the beginning was easy, the ending was semi-easy, and the middle was hard. Figuring out how to get from the story idea nugget to the climax and conclusion is the hardest part, in my opinion. Good luck! -Emily |
