Yes, you'd need an additional 80,000+ GP to renew with gift points. The grace period adds another 4 weeks to your timeframe before you actually lose anything. You won't be reverting to free, though, since the Basic runs until July.

Option 1 -- Gift points can be bought. [Memberships can also be purchased with money.]

Option 2 -- Reviewing is the usual way to earn gift points. Plenty of people manage to review enough over a year to pay for a year's Upgraded, which takes earning about 42K GP/month. Some even manage to earn enough for a Premium. You have 2 months to earn the 80K, so that's doable. Other options are listed here: How to Acquire Gift Points from Writing.Com 101 .

Option 3 -- Save a copy of the content of the new interactive to your computer so that it can be recreated by hand if you need to, and let the Upgraded lapse until you do have enough gift points to renew.

Option 4 -- Delete and purge an older interactive before the Upgraded runs out so you can keep the new one.
