I'm thanks so much for the conversation everyone. I didn't expect such a response. A local painter by the name of Sue Hand has an exhibit of coal breakers and such displayed. I am from the "anthracite region" of Pennsylvania and it still has a very important place in local culture. I have gained a renewed inspiration from her watercolour series and am planning a visit to the local historical society to begin my research.
