typing is typing, and it should be the same dang thing. Don't add artificial meaning where there is none. There is no magic sock or pen or keyboard that unlocks the power.

Zen's idea to try flash fiction is a good one. Consider using that flash fiction for your blog, because as a fiction writer, half the point of a blog is to build a readership who will buy your book. Blogging about ducks when your books are about murder isn't gonna help as much.

That advice may sound like "why the heck are we talking about marketing" but don't do anything without at least two reasons for doing it. Finding multiple uses for your writing, increases the value of the effort.
