I'm currently reading a novel by Jay Northearn called "Beyond Falcon's Reach". It's a wonderful mash of high fantasy and steampunk, with electricity and semi-intelligent AI software thrown in too. Oh, and there's a race which aren't actually vampires, but they're vampiric in nature.
Although the grammar is wanting in a few places, the story is so good it's easy to breeze over the little grammatical issues. I'm loving it.
