Everyone has their writing process. In the end you have completed word art! |
Hello S.E. Mabson. Many times, I've found myself in the same position as yourself, although I'll share what worked for me a few years ago when I was working with an indie film-making outfit. Index cards, cork-boards and whiteboards. For longer projects, these three items were a godsend. Work out your particulars for a chapter(scenes at the time) on a whiteboard, copy that onto an index card, then pin it to the cork-board, before wiping off the white board and starting again for the next chapter. I found that the permanence of hand-writing on the index cards made me really consider what was going to happen in each scene, before typing up a draft. One of the great perks of this system, is that you can rearrange the index cars on the board at anytime. Since then, I've mainly stuck to short stories and poems, although I plan to attempt this process again when I work on my novel for NaNoWriMo in November. Hopefully all of that made sense. Good Luck.
